How awful, poor woman!

Were they old scars or has she had another recent surgery? Sorry for the questions, I've not been watching.

Be fair, the ones who are unhappy didn't vote for Anastasia

But there's always someone who is unhappy with something on DS.

We don't know if they were scars from previous or more recent surgery though as they seem to be linked to her mastectomies and reconstruction they might be older.

In fact, just to throw a complete spanner in the works it could be said that she should have been given the chance to put her higher scoring week one dance up against Melvin's higher scoring week 2 dance in any dance off situation.”

But if the dance off had taken place the scoring for the first week would count for nothing. The judges are meant to eliminate the person they think performed worse (of course we all know that doesn't always happen but that is how it is meant to be).

I am pretty sure they were only going to get the chance to re-dance the dance they did an hour or so earlier not the one from the week before so the judges should only have voted on that.

In the show Melvin scored more points, maybe only 1 point more but still more than Anastacia. He may well have done this dance better the second time or at least perfectly. Anastacia was pretty awful the first time and I doubt she would have improved so the judges may well have eliminated Anastacia

No, I didn't vote for her - she was useless. I didn't vote for Melvin either but I believe in fairness and not like rules being made up to suit a supposed "star".

They were both useless, but Anastasia will attract more viewers.

How can that be true when she was about 5 up from the bottom of the leader board and yet ended up in the dance off?

Reading social media even before the fiasco she didn't seem that popular and I was very surprised how many people had never heard of her, including Americans!

I always liked her. Liked her voice and thought she had a great attitude but I don't think she has come across well in Strictly

Each to their own, but neither impressed me. I don't think the pair of them would last more than three or four weeks, so it's a bit academic which of the two went out first.

I thought she came across fine and have loved her singing and presence for some time. It doesn't always come down to who is the best dancer, we should all realise that by now but who you enjoy watching most. You obviously don't enjoy watching her but I would watch her 'perform' over a good 5 people. Chances are she will be off soon anyway.

Injuries ( and disabilities) can improve and deteriorate. I have mobility issues with my left leg and have a walking stick. Somedays I don't need it, other days I can't even stand without it. Comes and goes. It's entirely possible than an injury that was very painful and debilitating one day will, a few days later, be much more manageable.

I wonder if in such a case they could allow the judges original score to decide who stays? Or at least add that to the viewers votes? In the case of a tie, Head Judge should decide. I mean they do it that way (HJ) in the DO.

They can do anything they like, it depends on what they want to do. In this case either send "what's his face" home, or someone they think will appeal to the demographic they are chasing, in the constant quest to increase the ratings. I wouldn't rule it out.

As for the news that she will be given effectively "easier routines," it's a joke.
In any "real competition," there a few where you can, "get a start," other than golf.

I agree. As soon as she's up - she's out.

A shame. Mainly because I was a big fan of her music

Obviously Anastasia, in reality, was in a similar situation as some in the Department of Education would term as, "deferred success," due to her injury.

The BBC just brought it forward, that's all. That's probably in the rules too.

I liked the piece below it:

"On a side note, it was disappointing - and sadly, unsurprising - to see how the tabloids chose to cover this story. The Mirror ran with a piece claiming Anastacia had a “backstage meltdown” during the filming of the results show, which painted her as some sort of diva who’d thrown a strop to get her own way. Even if the story is true, I really couldn’t care less. I’d say she was pretty entitled to have a cry and be upset, in fact. Meanwhile, over at the Daily Star, they made the news a front page story, which carried the headline “Strictly In Crisis Over Boob Hell”, alongside a picture of fellow contestant Laura Whitmore in her underwear. Like, really? Though I guess it’s nice to see their practice of reducing a female to a pair of breasts isn’t even stopped by the fact they belong to another woman.

It can be frustrating when someone leaves the competition who maybe shouldn’t, I get it. But this is a Saturday night entertainment show, not a general election. So how about we all stop taking it so seriously, yeah? Anastacia is a brave woman who deserves nothing but our respect and admiration. Not this sort of crap"

..But this is a forum to discuss Strictly, not the general election.

I also think that Anastacia is a brave woman, but that has nothing to do with what happened last Saturday.

This was referring more to social media.

It has everything to do with what happened. She has been attacked and called out for not stepping down, she had every right to not step down. The producers made the decision to end it on public voting, not her.

Even though she has been attacked personally by some people and I do not agree with that, she should have stepped down on Saturday, the producers can not tell her not to.

Why? She has every right to still be there. It was the producers who gave Melvin the heave ho, not her.
What name??
