They can't bring in a new person, we are three/ four weeks in with training and fans set up, extra cost as well.

I think her injury sounds very serious so basically doctors will say, that's it, a bit like Jimmy Tarbuck.

The differences this time is this situation is so early in the series, only one person left, so no harm brining him back, bar an offer of a refund for who voted by phone.

Risks, she will leave at, some point, what occurs if another celebrity gets sick, and retires, a two person final? It's so early on.

Fairness, not saying the BBC have acted unfairly, thry haven't, thry did the best under the circumstances, but Melvin whilst lowest votes, didn't get a chance to prove himself in a dance off.

It would be a last resort, to avoid finishing the series early (ie having only one couple left for the final).

If Anastacia withdraws on Monday, Melvin will not be reinstated.

That said, there would be a heck of a backlash towards her and the BBC. She would have been medically cleared to dance on the live show. She must have been aware of she was entitled to a bye. She may have made the injury worse during the routine, but either way I am pretty sure she would have received medical attention straight after they got their scores. Perhaps the final decision about dancing again was left to her, but she only had to make that decision when she found out she was in the dance off.

If she withdraws on Monday, Melvin will have had a very raw deal.

Yes, but can't see them writing off a 45 prime time Sunday show with planned group dances, guests booked to sing, etc.

People there at recording say she offered to dance the doctors there said no. They say a long delay.

it would just be a 2 or 3 person final as it has been before.

And if another goes? Two others had injuries.

The Suns...take.

https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbi...orm-dance-off/

Anastacia said: "I danced on Saturday even though the doctor had advised me to rest after I ripped the scar tissue around where I had my double mastectomy.

"After that I was unable to dance again and I was devastated that I couldn't take part in the dance off.

"I am so very sad to see Melvin and Janette go, they are the most the most wonderful pair and I will miss Melvin's unique spirit and beautiful smile."

Don't they have standby celebs and pro dancers? Certainly there are two pro dancers without partners, one male and one female. Can't remember whether someone was brought in around week 4 or 5 because someone went out injured, or was that Dancing on Ice? I'm sure if Anastacia has to pull out next week, they'll just bring on a spare couple. Melvyn would have gone home, even if Anastacia was able to do her shortened routine, as he wasn't a good dancer.

Strictly has never brought in a replacement celeb once the series has started - series where people have had to pull out just have a person less in the final. An injured pro is different - usually one of the eliminated pro's subs for them.

What is the point of bringing him back, it was hardly a 'shock elimination' the public really don't care for him, he'd probably end up going home again next week anyway, just harsh putting him through it twice.

I suggest we ask Judge Rinder to pass judgement

50 minutes according to the person in the audience who provided the spoiler last night, although it was all backstage. It doesn't sound like the audience saw any of what the Mirror described. She did say Brendan was very upset and consoled by Anton, but no mention of body language hinting he was upset with Anastacia.

Of course she is going to leave. She knows that if she stays in she will be voted out, and I don't think she will be able to take that

She can't win really.

The Sun gives a very different version of events. She was TOLD she could not dance, rather than having a 'diva strop'. But I doubt that will get through to those that have decided she is a diva.

Mind I trust The Sun no more than I trust The Mirror. Both awful papers.

give her a bye and then see how she is for week 4, if no improvement she pulls out

Never happened so far and there have been occasions when the final was down to 2 couples. Notably series, 4, 5, 6 and 7. Also why they now have 4 couples going into the last show, so the final does not need padding out so much if one person withdraws.

The 4 person last show, was partly as a result of Denise Van Outen not being as popular as hoped. So they binned the double elimination in the semi finals, from series 10.

To be honest I would never vote for her now. Yes I do think she is a diva and has not behaved in a very dignified way letting someone else be kicked out so she could stay, but the bigger issue here is - do we want to watch someone attempting to dance who is likely to sustain serious injury? I certainly don't and I'd hope nobody else, whether they love or loathe Anastacia, would want her to make her injury worse.

Melvin wont be reinstated

as someone has already said, there will be a 3 person final

Jade Johnson withdrew and no-one was reinstated
John Sargent withdrew and no-one was reinstated
Kelly Brook withdrew and no-one was reinstated

why should this time be any different

anyway Anastasia hasnt withdrawn yet so its all a bit of a moo point really isnt it

How said there will be 3 in the final. No way I like 4 in the final. If anastacia pulls out there won't be an elimination this week or at some point like Halloween week or Blackpool which will still leave 4 in the final. Just my opinion

Many of us liked 3 in the final. Yet the year of Chris Hollins and Ricky Whittle, there were only 2 couples in the whole final show. Ended up doing 5 dances each.

In all instances rule 57 A applies that requires a number of things to occur.

1) all members of all forums must run around like headless chickens wondering what will happen

2) forum members will demand the immediate reinstatement of their own favourite celebrity

3) if item 2 has not uccurred yet then when said favourite celebrity is sent packing this will immediate invoke clause 9 b ii which states that is the ideal time to let someone unjustly sent packing to return.

4) the potential to bring back 'a fans favourite' or a celebrity 'who was robbed' any number of seasons ago will be brought back.
