The Boys were Picked for Looks
Zarla

The final three all look like they belong is a boy band. Nicole should have gathered all the good looking ones with decent voices together and put them in a group, One Direction style.

All three were picked for their hair, height and faces rather than their vocals.

Nothing new then.

Matt is the only good singer of the 3 left, but there were better singers than him no doubt, the other guy Ryan bores me and I dont find franky or whatever his name is entertaining in the slightest.

Nope, they were picked because the producers wanted a boyband pop type act to push to finals from the start.

All the boys are good looking and modern, so not a factor. Those not through are as marketable. Niall and Nate are the best voices of the boys , but do not have the pop/boyband sound.James has a strong voice but more soul than pop.Christian has potential, too, but more indie rock than pop.

Matt and Freddie both have good voices and are marketable. Ryan is not as strong vocally but has a definite appeal.

Like most people, I'd have chosen a combination of Nate/Niall/Matt/Freddie , and credit to James who's off key audition was suspicious as he is usually in tune. That doesn't mean those through don't all deserve a chance, as they all do.

Well, they weren't choosen because of their talent that's for sure.

Nate was a much better singer than the final 3 and so was the camp guy - can't remember his name. Nate was also good looking so I'm not sure why he wasn't put through.

They don't always pick for looks, though - last year the boys' category featured an overweight Paul Potts type and he did quite well until he forgot the words to Adele's 'Hello'.

James and Niall would have been my picks.

The Boys normally has at least one act that can sing at the lives, last year had Seann, the year before Paul was the best vocalist technically, the year before Luke, the year before was James Arthur etc.

This year however I honestly don't know who the best vocalist will go to as Matt Terry screeches, Freddy is more about his Piano than vocals, and Ryan just seems like he needs to go into 1D.

I felt sorry for Calvin Harris. He looked bored out of his skull with everyone apart from Matt.

I don't get the fuss over Matt ,good looking yeh but wouldn't say he had a good voice

Sam Callaghan lasted about six weeks on good looks

I can confirm that this was only because he was directed to look bored. It is part of the manipulation, He actually said he loved two acts not through and the voice of one of them he described as "amazing and beautiful".

Those"bored" close ups were filmed AFTER the auditions(or maybe before, I am uncertain of this one detail)

It is all a staged way to try to justify sending stronger acts who don't suit the mapped out plan/the already in the works pop (this year) album, etc home, and they make themselves actually look quite silly to those who know what's going on.

Bloo dee hell.
The producers have gone so far in their manipulation that they read my mind which says the boys category is rubbish and then made some editing to show me that the guest to the judge happens to feel the same way as me.
Right...

It's almost like the three boys are Louis, Harry and Niall (with longer hair) from One D lookalikes.

If there's a market for a boyband they should throw these three together with the Brooks after the series as they're all going to flop as solos.

That is scandalous.

It's almost like they are casting characters for a pantomime rather than judging a talent contest.

Cowell needs some replacements for 1D to take control of the autotune machine and to gain the £'s from brainless teenage girls.

I just watched some YT vids of the 2014 boys. Paul Akister and Andrea Faustini were head and shoulders above Ben from a singing and performance perspective and yet the latter won. It's totally hilarious.

This year they have gone one better by getting rid of the best singers before the lives because the producers and Cowell are too cowardly and scared of the challenge to their chosen one.

I completely agree. It's beyond ridiculous now.

(I'm not sure the three selected this year are particularly good-looking, though - are they?)

I'd say ALL the finalists were chosen for their looks. Either they are attractive (good looks) or they have a certain style (distinctive look).

Everybody who is left is very pretty or fills a niche with their looks. Even HoneyG has a very specific look.

So for 'image' rather than good looks? Yes, I think I would agree with that. That's all Simon Cowell cares about.

Funny how there are no overweight finalists apart from one of the joke acts.

Paul Akister eventually made the lives after he lost a lot of weight. So all 'big boned' people auditioning in the future should take note that they're unlikely to get past JH.

Everything bar singing is popular on this show so I'm not surprised that Matt Terry's popular considering he sounds like someones messed with his friend down below and then he screams out the high notes.
