I'm not commenting on the decision made on Saturday because it's been gone over and over and over - all I would say is that I hope very much Anastacia recovers soon and plaudits to Melvin for being an absolute gent.
I do agree, however, that it's very easy to tap out a tweet in 20 seconds and then be told you're the most wonderful human being to ever walk this planet. Janette is hardly likely to tweet "cheers then, chuffed to bits to be out of the competition without a chance to dance off #HackedOff". I follow the majority of the dancers on Twitter and Instagram and am not naive enough to think we can turn our back on social media but I do think it's bonkers to really seriously believe we "know" people on the basis of what they choose to put out there on their accounts.”
You're right, of course, but I do think you can build up a picture of someone over time - not just based on tweets

- and, as you say, Janette doesn't appear to have said or done
anything which would suggest she's anything other than a lovely person.
I guess I would just prefer to assume the better side of people until they give me a reason to think differently, rather than start from the cynical POV of, 'Well, she would say that, wouldn't she?! 😏 '. Occasionally when someone says something nice, they actually mean it
(Not directing that at you, btw, just speaking in general

)
