The Relley C omen came through! They are certainly going to keep Honey G for at least another week, in spite of the booing., and will still want to make Four of Diamonds happen. (It won't happen, though). Who'll be the next casualty? My money is on Gifty.

It all depends on where they take Gifty. Was last weeks image change and sitting at a piano style a one off, will it be a cheesy Rockin robin halloween equivalent to really spoil any street cred she once had, or will they go back to the strong independant woman with some sass and a good image of week 1. I think her staying is dependant on which way they take her.
I think Ryan is only being kept until he is joint bottom 2 with Emily for the drama.
All in all, no-one is a real star this year IMO.

That's not PR, that's what we call publicity - the really brash, tacky end of it. And money can buy it. You pay handsomely for a good publicist with very low levels of taste who does it for the money.

The girlband will go next. 'Too clean' last week, this week out will come the short skirts and the playsuits and the high heeled boots, and suddenly everyone will be "not sure you're right for this show". The judges will completely backtrack that they told them to sex it up, or they'll say "that's not quite what I meant". Simon might blame it on Louis.

I don't think they told them to sex it up specifically, they said to own the stage and own the performance and be fierce, which doesn't necessarily mean to sex it up. Having said that, Louis has no idea so that could mean anything to him. It was a bit of a stupid comment from Simon really, comparing a girlband with 5 years experience and lots of success to a manufactured band with no performance experience. Of course Little Mix owned their performance but they didn't on week 2 of the X factor when they were in it.
4 of Diamonds do have good voices, but they don't have "IT" so i doubt they will last much longer on the X factor especially with louis at the mentor, I think Little Mix did well with Tulisa as she understood the current music scene. Simon is clearly looking at succession planning for Little mix while they still all get on, but expect them to be burnt out soon like 1D.

Girl bands seem to be a sore spot for Simon, as it seems from a number of sources he's still bitter that his attempts to launch one (for e.g. Girl Thing) have never taken off in the way he's hoped. I think one of the reasons he seems to favour Fifth Harmony over Little Mix is he wasn't on the judging panel for the latter.

I think Simon favours whoever makes him money, Little Mix weren't getting no1's for a while although good album sales and always focused on 1D, now 1D aren't around and Little Mix have had much more success lately, he seems to be more interested in them. He shouldn't have too much of a sore spot he has two of the biggest girl bands signed to him, what is there to worry about.

I lost all respect for Robbie Williams' opinion when he started blowing smoke up Honey G's backside! His idea of interesting isn't mine.
Given Saara's previous performing experience, Sharon could really do impressive things with her. Saara knows how to work a stage. Unfortunately, Sharon is letting her down.

I think they were open to keeping 4oD if they managed to draw a big vote with passable support, which they didn't quite, though at least they did enough to get close in the vote.
As far as what happens next I'm not sure if the producers are fussed between Sam/Saara/Ryan. Mild preference at best. Might not want to save Saara a fourth time if it comes to it.

I actually think they were always gonna keep 4OD until the tour cut off or they'd have only had one group on the tour and 5 solo girls, so i think one of the girls was always gonna go that week maybe they had planned on Saara or Sam and switched to Gifty after the F bomb.
My gut feeling is that initially they wanted to run with Gifty but even after all the softening the week before she just wasn't polling well and so they gave her up as a lost cause!

Nearly all Press releases put out by PR companies i receive on a daily basis are courting nothing more than publicity free advertising if you will..... the lines are far more blurred than you describe!

I think you've hit the nail on the head, and suddenly everything about this series makes perfect sense.
Still don't know what possessed ITV to buy The Voice. You don't need two glorified karoke contests on one channel. Then they've got a new dance show to compete with Strictly...dream on. Strictly is something of a national institution. I can't see many people chosing a newer show over it.
ITV should focus more on drama, which they were doing for a while. It's so depressing to see they've gone back REALITY TV IS EVERYTHING mantra.
I can only assume saving money is the driving force.
I would say with the voice now they may find some actual stars this time and put more into it, itv is the better channel

Will Honey G winning be our "Trump" moment! The people speaking and protesting because they don;t want the Cowell dynasty taking over the TV!
Bump... because now that Matt won(good luck to him regardless he has talent too)...If anyone cares to read my post at the bottom of page 1 of this thread ,calling producers out and explaining how they operate and who they PLANNED as winner this year ,it might just appear in a different light now (note the pre-live show posting time )
