Melvin - dignified
Hello everyone
Quite apart from all the hoo ha of the weekend, I would like to congratulate Melvin and Janette for their dignified behaviour during the results show. I am sure that they - and all the other competitors - must have been aware that something was "up". Still, they have done themselves proud. I had never heard of Melvin before the show but I wish him all the best in the future. G |

Definitely. Take a bow, Melvin. I had never heard of you before but you came across as a helluva guy who behaved with true grace.

I don't think so he just acted as he should've given the situation and that was it

The standard this year is so high, any other year Melvin would have probably stayed in 5 or 6 weeks.

Lovely guy. Really didn't know him before but I will remember him now.
Was very sad to see him go, but dancing ballroom is not his thing and, quite frankly, given his talent in other areas it hardly matters! |

Merlvin and Janette were dignified in defeat but I thought the audience's clapping after he spoke was way over the top. In fact it very nearly drowned out Janette's heartfelt response.
Loved their 'last dance' too with Melvin completely "owning it"! |

He seems like a very nice fella and was lovely about the situation.

I haven't watched the results show yet, but I liked Melvin very much from what we've seen of him (I didn't know him before) and I certainly wish him the best - I think there are plenty of years where he could have expected to last longer, but he fell into the category of not good and not comedy awful. But he was trying his best and seems a lovely man - can't ask more of somebody than that.

I agree. Melvin seems like a lovely guy and I hope if some good comes out of this mess, it will be a career boost for him. He may have lost a nonexistent dance-off but he's won over a lot of people, and no doubt made some great friends too.

Fair play to him and Janette, they both handled themselves with dignity in a very stressful and unfair situation . Unlike some .

I wonder what would have happened if a more popular/well know Celeb was shown the door in the same way. It seems desperately unfair, but he they both behaved impeccably.

I like Melvin and so dignified...have to admit though it has spoilt my start to the beginning of strictly...Melvin could have danced better in the dance off.
If this is the case then why don't they go on the couple with the lowest vote instead of having a dance off. |

Personally, I don't think the Beeb had any other option other than to do what they did, considering the public had also called to vote to save.
That said, Melvin was a true gent and Janette a true lady in the way they accepted the decision. I wasn't terribly keen on her, but she's gone up in my estimations due to how she's accepted it. I'd never heard of him, but I'm sure his decency will open loads of doors for him, because a wider audience has also seen this. Good for them both. And nice to see. |

It was an unfortunate situation and hopefully Anastasia will be ok to continue in the series as goodness knows she has had a lot to deal with health wise |

If Anastasia withdrew during the week would it be possible to re-instate Melvin or not? Just a thought.

Melvin and Janette handled the situation very well.
I think Melvin had more to offer, and he did seem to be seen by TPTB as suitable to be out early. I hope they bring him back to the show or ITT at some point this Series. |
