He seems to have a learning disability, struggles to spell, write his own cv and finds it hard to get a job..

In reality a girl like Whitney wouldn't put up with him not having a job for long.. Yet we are meant to believe he has enough money for their honeymoon and wedding!?

Well on top of everything you just listed Lee suffers depression so three guesses where all this is heading....

Shona actually said Lee's exit
Spoiler
so it seems obvious to me its heading one way.

For Gods sake, he lost his job literally a few days ago and completely out of the blue because his no good granddad up and left without telling him. It wouldn't say much about Whitney if she jacked him in for that.

And no, he doesn't have a learning disability. Believe it or not, not everyone is academically gifted. He makes up for it by being kind, gentle and loving. Whitney has done a LOT worse in the past.

You want to visit the estate I grew up on, most people round there couldn't spell and had problems looking for jobs but that wasn't because they were disabled.

At least Lee is actively looking for employment rather than just dossing about.

I have been open and honest about my situation so here I go again. I am autistic and got mental health issues myself: anxiety, depression and schizoid personality disorder. I have a degree yet I cannot work due to my health issues and the DWP has said that I cannot work.

I would not be surprised if the pressure on Lee to find employment makes his mental health worse. I know as it has happened to me and is happening still

Whitney's not choosy when it comes to men, and for some reason she loves Lee, I personally find him dull.

I'm so sorry to hear that Morgsie. I think people forget when they make facetious comments about soap characters that often the stories being told are very much reflective of what's going on in society, and that people like you who have mental health issues recognise parts of their struggle when they watch.

I agree that Lee's struggle to find a job could very well lead to his depression getting worse.

Thanks for sharing, it's interesting to know that Eastenders are actually portraying something that real people have to deal with. I really want to get a job but due to my anxiety am finding it difficult. It also means I'm unable to drive. Lee is portrayed as being dim but it's okay not to know how to do a CV and he is actively looking for work

I don't think you need exams for the army which is probably why Lee chose it

depression and anxiety go hand in hand so the thought of having to look for work will be making him anxious which will end up making his depression worse, i dont think he has a disability at all.

A mental health condition is considered a disability if it has a long-term effect on your normal day-to-day activity. This is defined under the Equality Act 2010.

All depends if someone is on PIP or DLA.

PIP Daily Living Component Standard Rate; £55.10
PIP Daily Living Component Enhanced Rate: £82.30

PIP Mobility Component Standard Rate: £21.80
PIP Mobility Component Enhanced Rate: £57.45

Not sure about DLA Rates but with DLA there is higher or low mobility and higher, middle and lower care rates

EDIT; I volunteer with Citizen's Advice along with doing a distance learning course in adult social care and applying to do a community mental health work course

Is Lee actually looking for a job though? He spent most of today's episode faffing about with a dress!

Now if he was messing about in a Dress then you really have to start worrying about him

Has anyone read the horror stories about JSA and ESA on the advice forum?

It is a fact that over the last several years, many hundreds of people have committed suicide or their illness become fatal due to the constant hounding by the DWP.

The easy targets are the best.

The Eton mafia saw to that.

Don't believe everything you read in the press or watch on 'poverty porn' shows.

Give Lee a break, the lad is a good, caring kind man and compared to some of the scum Fitney has been out with in the past an absolute diamond.

Compare him to the repulsion of Philth for example (who for some reason has attracted so many stunning, beautiful and intelligent women to his bed with one Australopithecine grunt).

While not especially bright, Lee doesn't come across as having learning difficulties.

Well she is expecting his kid and has a rough background so I think you're very much mistaken on that.

They're supposed to be getting married - that means commitment. You don't just ditch someone when they're having a hard time or you don't get the things you want.

That's true. Atleast he has a good heart.. give me a good heart over money and horribleness anyday !

Whitney was attracted to the bad boys which is the flaw of so many nice girls.. yet it doesn't seem fair as nice guys finish last !
