Latin/Ballroom Dance Question; Would you let 13yo go shirtless for dance?
This weekend, my son has either a jive or contemporary dance and his dance teacher is thinking of having him dance with an open shirt or shirtless. I am fine with it and so is ds but we are both worried of people's reactions. Do you think it is ok or do you think it is wrong for someone his age(he looks slightly younger than his age)

In the confines of a competition it seems fine. For preference maybe an open shirt rather than shirtless as the shirt emphasises movement.

I'm 13. I wouldn't say he should go shirtless though, probably open shirt or low buttoned, because as Mona said, it emphasises movement.

if he is doing contemporary then it is common for the male dancer to be shirtless or have an open shirt - personally I don't think shirtless is required for a Jive
