IIRC the staff -particularly blonde haired supervisor guy have watched MIB and commented on his behaviour,which seems to cement MIB being present timeline.Dont recall any of them doing the same with William.

Well presumably they are Wyatts people who tend to dress like Animals (furs and horns etc).

We have seen that bullets have little effect on Wyatts men, could just be the thick furs they are wearing shielding them somewhat but maybe they do have armour on underneath

Lots of questions answered. And it appears that many fan theories were correct.

That was a great episode. Good to see all the strands coming together now.

Key points -

Maeve's privileges go all the way to the top (she could control Bernard). Given what happens between Ford and Clementine at the end, this may prove significant.

When Logan eviscerates Dolores to 'prove' to William she's not real, exposing her '1st generation' innards, Dolores reveals inner knowledge - "There is beauty in this world, Arnold built it that way". She's more clued in to her reality than she lets on.

After fleeing, Dolores stands, checks herself and is now not wounded - the whole Will & Logan saga is a memory, not the present.

Charlotte Hale confirms MiB is a senior board member of Delos, he says he doesn't care about whether Ford gets the boot. She also says the MiB's investment kept Ford in business "all those years ago".

We see Teddy have a flashback - and just as Dolores did previously, he sees himself as the culprit in the massacre of the original town. Did it repeat itself with different hosts, or was the massacre orchestrated by a handful of the 'sentient' ones?

Elsie's behaviour tablet has been detected - when the already suspicious security guy goes to check, his communication device doesn't get a signal (as Ford did with Teresa's) and the warpainted hosts that Maeve recalled scalping her once, do not respond to his commands..

Logan awakes in the camp the night after the Dolores incident - and everyone around him has been slaughtered.. by William, who is clearly exhibiting the first signs of being the MiB. He tells Logan they are going to find Dolores. Or else.

The buried church is standing in Dolores 'current' timeline (it's not necessarily the actual 'present' timeline, as the MiB in conversation with Wyatt's gang says it's buried) It's the site of the original underground Westworld facility - the confessional booth is the elevator access!

Dolores explores the area, flashing between multiple timelines (all when the church was standing) as indicated by the clothing she wears.

Young Ford walks past, looking for Arnold...

We witness 'Bernard' being 'born' and schooled in the correct mannerisms to mimic who he's a replica of. Who we suspected all along. We see Dolores address him by that name.
We see the famous photo with the real Arnold visible.

We see Dolores in one of those old secret interviews with Arnold - and the point of the inner voice ("remember") becomes clearer:
"You can't help me... because you're dead... because I killed you"

When Dolores exits the confessional elevator again, the Church is empty - and the MiB is at the door. Is this the recent past? Was the Church rebuilt and access to the facility below restored? It was buried in Will & Logans time, and the MiB in the presumed 'present' says it's buried. Maybe he just never went back to see....?

Ford turns the tables on Bernard and reveals he had the upper hand all along. His references to what can happen to the inferior species may be prophetic. He departs leaving us unsure if the gunshot found it's mark, or even if it did, whether that's really the end...

Wow, even the "Arnold Weber" theory was right. I'm sort of disappointed that I read the Westworld sub on reddit because they've got pretty much everything spot on. Mind you I'd have never figured out any of it on my own and I'd probably just be sat here confused.

Do you assume no one remembers the episode when they come here?

I think Ford's had the town dug up and cleaned for the Wyatt storyline. Maybe the MIB didn't know that then.

Anyway, cracking episode.

Great to have every single theory out there pretty much confirmed. Even the William = MIB one which was the only one not outright confirmed had some strong hints towards it, with the last thing William says being "I'm going to go find Dolores", and then the next thing MIB does is find Dolores in the church.

Also we know there are multiple points of time at play now seeing as the photo of Logan's sister is the one that Abernathy dug up way back in the first couple of episodes. Meaning that Present Dolores, MIB, Ford, Bernard, Maeve, Stubbs, etc. are on one timeframe, where as Past Dolores, William, Logan, Young Ford and Arnold are in another timeframe 30 years ago. Meaning that MIB = William is more than likely at this point.

Aside from confirming that I'm curious to see what ground will be covered next episode, especially now that Bernard might be dead for good? Ford did say "Let's end this once and for all", so perhaps Bernard doesn't reset like the other hosts this time.

the Timelines especially Delores' are confusing the hell out of me but great episode. Not enough Maeve for me, really interested to see how that will play out in the final episode.

One theory is that Maeve's AI uprising is in fact all Ford's new narrative

Those clinging to MIB=William theory better hope the show has a good explanation for William's missing mole.

I hope not, it should be part of real life otherwise it was a bit too much of a misdirection.

Her uprising must be happening in the present as the MIB is old.

But I agree with the other poster, the timelines are confusing at the moment.

That sounds plausible, and ties in with 'rotating roles' for hosts too. Maybe even 'composite' personalities.
With Bernard - the 'data' that was being 'backed up' by Teresa to pre-empt any petulant deletions by Ford, included - as said - 'host identities'. Unless he kept it separately (in which case it still survives anyway) that could include Bernard. Whether Bernard succeeded in blowing his brains out ot not, does not mean he can't return with just a slightly earlier 'build'. I wonder if Ford might not even have one in the oven already.. He could also return in a completely different host body.
(Which now reminds me of Quantum Leap!)

Well there was the time the two repair guys first examined her settings before 'upgrading' her - and they discovered she'd already been heavily altered - which, so far, is something that has led back to Ford.

Brilliant episode!! And yes, the theories are coming true, which is testament to the show being well written - that it's been dropping hints all along, and why I need to watch each episode twice to get things, very little 'dead dialogue'.... It's a bit overwhelming as most shows don't ask that you remember a tenth as much, it's caught people off guard :P

Great episode and some brilliant acting - notably from Jeffrey Wright and Ben Barnes I thought. Although it seems like it answered a lot of questions it still leaves a whole heap more hanging ...

I am still going with the MIB being Logan - I think the writers have been leading us up the garden path and trying to paint him as William is just far too obvious.

The sudden appearance of Hale when it seemed the MIB could be in some sort of trouble I found interesting - I know they said they are both board members of Delos but is it possible they are actually a bit more closely related?? Could she be his daughter??

Could Ford's new narrative lead us into series 2 and a completely different timeline/theme?? I don't see how they can get 5 series out of what we currently have. Is the answer to the maze there or has that been solved already??

Or was the confession box in the church the maze that Dolores and MIB were searching for?? If so what use would that be to MIB in the present??

We were told that Ford has dug up / rebuilt the town as part of his new narrative.

The Three main time frames for Delores in this episode are

Blue Dress - In the three years prior to the Park opening.

William - stabbed in the stomach and dies in the River (either due to the wound or whatever happens next ep).

Present Day - revisits the newly dug up/ rebuilt church finds some deactivated hosts in the lab (you'd have thought Ford would have tidied up a bit ), goes back upstairs and meets MiB.





We got to see the MiB take apart down to the last screw the early mechanical hosts that he told us he did on his first visit to the park.


Never would have guessed that the photo was Logan's sister. I guess William returns to Delores' ranch at some point and drops it.

Logan just seems like too marginal of a character for that. And I don't think they have really laid any semblance of a narrative foundation for it. Other than Logan acting like a knob. There's no string for that twist. The writing sets out to be opaque and mysterious at first but I don't think they're trying to trick the audience...which I think is a good thing. Anyway I think the latest episode in effect confirmed it has to be William really.

i'm hoping season 2 isnt even set in a theme park. i want the hosts released into the real world.
