Yeah, sorry, I meant Felix. No idea where Justin came from.
![]() And since people are talking about it, if Dolores is the only host to achieve the bicameral mind state (no longer hearing Arnold's voice, but her own) of sentience, then why was Ford talking about constantly having to roll hosts back, and also about dumping those who achieve sentience and go insane in the basement? If that's true, then how is Dolores the first host to become sentient? I feel like sentience is a yes or no thing, or are are there now levels of sentience? ![]()

The only thing I have trouble accepting is with regards to Maeve being programmed to realise she's not human and try and break out of the park etc.
I can absolutely accept that Ford (or someone) programmed this in her, not an issue with that. But it was really only possible through the help of Felix and Sylvester - if they're not hosts how could Ford (or anyone) bank on them going along with everything she wanted them to do? Also why on earth didn't Felix plan to leave on the same train as Maeve - he can't just go back to work, surely! ![]() I hope this hasn't already been posted and answered |

Think, Ford has planned much more complicated narrative already. Would this be beyond him? |

That's one of the easiest things to explain, Maeve and the other hosts have never seen a Samurai before or why they exist which would require a knowledge of Japanese history......which is rather complicated.
Yet she wasn't perturbed by the escalator or any of the other modern stuff as she made her escape out. She's seen swords and other melee weapons within Westworld and is aware of there being more to the world than her Westworld captivity so not that hard to explain. They just wanted to tease us with Samurai World. I did laugh when her companion hosts got hold of the automatic rifles with their 'how cool are these' reaction. I guess Maeve had upped their settings to learn instantly and not be as confused about stuff as Dolores had been. |

Security guards were laughable though, not a single one knows how to shoot straight.

I'm pretty sure we saw Maeve ramp all of their settings up to '11'. I particularly liked the effortless hip shots! Security guards were laughable though, not a single one knows how to shoot straight.

Sorry if this has already be raised - but surely the largest narrative problem now is that the deaths of all those rich/important people will be noticed immediately and the authorities sent in to close the park down?

She ramped up a lot of their settings, but not all of them; she still wanted to be in control, didn't she? She most likely enhanced their perception and ability to learn (re automatic weapons). I doubt she enhanced their overall intelligence much though, as neither of them would have likely took orders from her.

The way I look at it is that Ford has done some evaluation on (his?) employees? He knows who'd be more sympathetic/empathic towards a conscious host, and thus set up the means for the tech guy to be working on Maeve when she woke up?

I noticed her set aggression to maximum and pain to minimum. Would explain how Armistice was able to cut off her own arm!
