Its already getting boring for me with its repetitive narrative: locate original time ship, change clothes, travel back, foil Flynn, Historian has one-to-one with Flynn, then back home.

I know its early days but even the subplots don't seem expansive enough to keep me watching for much longer.

(has a think....)

When they return, the ripples would've happened so would the boss lady know WHY they'd been sent back ? Would she know what their mission had been ? Does she need them to tell her ?

If this is all true then they're free to do what they like so long as their conscience can handle it. So the pilot guy could've saved the President, killed the other 2 and returned to a world hopefully more friendly to [blank] ... Can't think of the right noun to use, darn it.

By all rights, she shouldn't even be there. Each and every time they travel through time, the timeline changes. The chances of that very same team being waiting for them each and every time they return is highly improbable. If by some temporal miracle the same team did manage to end up in that centre, there's no way they'd know what they'd sent the team back for initially.

This is why the show doesn't make any sense. It's lazy writing. There's no thought going into it.

Hey you're preaching to the choir as I'm with you with the whole "one could go back in time, change nothing, and still find everything has changed when you return" belief - so many random things happening, and so many variables involved that it is beyond imagination that things pan out EXACTLY the same as they did originally.

BUT this show AND most (if not ALL) shows and films that deal with time travel has as their no1 rule - the only changes that will occur will be directly relatable (?) to your meddling in the past.
So we got the no sister cos he married someone from the not-crash, rather than their first date just didn't go well this time and they never had another.
And we have every single lottery draw that happened will have turned out the same.

Kinda wish the show would demonstrate that this is one of their laws of time travel, and it would be easy to do.

Has no UK broadcaster picked this up? It's supposedly a big budget show.

Not as yet. The Russians appear to have an option on it though!

On the contrary there's a great deal of thought going into it in order to stop it becoming a complete uncontrollable mess. Yes, of course, you can poke fun at the logic but it would be completely impossible to keep a grip on the story if the likely consequences of real time travel were to be slavishly played out. The only alternative to this little change narrative would be to have the travellers lost in time severed from their origins and just plunging haphazardly around (although why you wouldn't just stick to the time you got landed with would be difficult to explain) which they kinda already did with Quantum Leap. You've either got to allow the writers to ignore reality, at least in part. Like every show ever made it requires suspension of disbelief.

Right thanks. Will have to be careful to watch out for it starting now as E4 isn't brilliant at promoting its shows.

I love the way people debate time travel and what would happen and get huffy if the program does not agree with their view. I have news for these people - it is science FICTION not science FACT!

The story is quite good and enjoyable.

Sure Time Trax was similar but at least we do not have that annoying hologram that wants to make you vomit being a hybrid Maria Von Trapp and Mary Poppins!

Best hologram ever was Al.

You'll never get clear of the paradoxes that time travel throws up. So its best just to let it go.
However, a lot of their other "science" doesn't really work either. All that stuff in the early episode about hacking the walkie-talkie - pure drivel. Dr. Who would be proud!

But its good old kiddie-comic-book stuff. Forget the "science" and just focus on the machinations and motivations - that is where the story is.

So does Flynn actually know what outcome his changes in History will have or will he be happy with any major change that results?

He could create a present that's far worse than the current one they have.

I presume he's choosing the times and places he does as they are already recorded in the book but does the book also say that he's defeated (or partially defeated) at all of these?

In which case he's just acting out a script presumably in order to achieve some future goal.

Enjoyable Alamo episode, I miss The Time Tunnel so this fills my time travel requirements quite nicely.

As said in another forum it could be the extra episodes are to wrap the story up (no cliffhanger) prior to the show being cancelled. Just speculation though.

I am enjoying this show but am shocked that NBC screen it at 10 pm it should be shown at 8 pm so young kids can watch it as there is nothing in it to warrant the 10 pm slot

Agreed. I sometimes wonder if they just want to kill shows.

This is nothing special, but I'm just loving Lucy - she's amazingly watchable.

Correct. Which does mean the definition of good and bad sides is at the very least starting to blur. Enjoying it...

I really like the Mission of the Week aspect of this but for some reason I'm not taken with the ongoing story arc.

The show isn't really doing anything for me. The fact they go back in time doesn't seem to really matter, they could be in similar situations in a present time action show.

For instance the team being caught and locked in a room, was just meh, and could have been done in the present.

Yes of course being a time travel show there are changes to the time line, but even they don't really seem that interesting.
