What exactly do you mean?

Do you mean that if you call a phone with caller display it does not show your old number? Or do you mean that if you go into the settings on the phone and get it to show the phone number it is not correct?

With the former you might find you have to wait a while for the number to port over. Also you may have to completely power off both your old and new phones then power up the new phone to complete the transfer. On some phones that means holding the on/off button in for a few seconds and selecting Power off on the screen.

If the latter that is not uncommon. I've just changed phones and my old number was transferred over OK but in the settings on the phone it shows the original SIM number and doesn't appear to be any way to change it easily.

On an iPhone you can just change it in the settings->phone menu, on Android there are some apps on the play store that can update the number. I think I used one called "My number" years ago on my old ZTE Blade.

Most Vodafone SIMs come with 00000000000 as the phone number in the SIM and the real number is shown on the packaging and when you dial a * command. This breaks Apple's iMessage service so Apple made it easy to change the number stored in the SIM.

From previous experience, if you are on Three, it will not change unless you do a SIM swap.

On EE it changes on the day the porting completes. You might want to perform a settings reset by texting START to 2020 (free of charge).
