He didn't exactly invite her back to his lair now did he?

He gave her a peck on the lips because he misread the situation. In this case I'd put it down to social awkwardness and a bit of desperation for companionship.
Honestly I think that's the crux of Lachlan's problems. He's so isolated and alone, that he's not really living in the real world. Even before the sexual assault he was portrayed as a kid with no friends whose entire life seemed to involve spending time with his doting mother and grandad who spoiled him and basically allowed him to do what he wanted without consequence. It's became normality for him to treat people any way he likes to suit his wants and needs and anyone who goes against him deserves to be punished (He was vile to Alicia for not being attracted to him, he destroyed Erics house because he was mean to Chrissie, he trashed Dr Baileys because he was taking Belle away from him and he shot Lawrence, the one time I genuinely think he lost control, because he didn't want him anymore). Anyone who disrupts his perfect life has to pay as we'll see next week when he accuses Robert of sexually assaulting him.
The actor is really good and is probably why I enjoy Lachlan so much. Never thought I'd like a character guilty of sexual assault.
