It's funny - or is it sad - that I watch a lot more of ITV3 than I do ITV1 now. It's testament to how good ITV can (or could) be.

I'm sure it's not just the memory cheating - the channel has produced some cracking stuff over the years.

Just not a lot lately...

"Chicago Hope" "LA LAW" "The Practice" and a hatful of classic British whodunnits of an evening, what's not to like in that line-up on ITV3?

Erm - I was referring more to Cracker, Rising Damp, the upcoming Robin of Sherwood, and the like - for me they beat anything it's churning out now.

Robin of Sherwood? Cool, I've been out of the ITV3 loop so didn't know - that from Michael Praed beginning or Jason Connery? Sorry to be anoraky but it kind of dipped towards the end...

I guess they'll start from the beginning - the rumour is it'll be on from Sat 28th May.

Another poke in ITV's eye, have you noticed that Sky too are showing the star wars movies? So those that do have sky are more likely to watch them on sky because at least they wont have nearly an hou of ad breaks and News. Sky have had the movies planned for a while apparently, so well done ITV on another bit of low iq programming.

And before someone slams me, yes I'm aware sky are not showing the movies in the same time slot!

So what you're essentially saying is that because there are no black members of the shadow cabinet, the party must therefore be racist? Thats what it sounds like you're saying because you haven't actually given any examples of policies that the Conservatives have which suggest they think that white people are the supreme race. You're actually just jumping on the anti-Tory bandwagon.

Also, the "idea" of the party was formed around the 1880's if my history is correct, with the modern Conservative Party forming in the early 1900's. Hardly "hundreds of years" is it? This proves my point that you aren't basing your argument on any facts.

I have to that Dr Who has been an excellent series- far better than the original. The signs looked good but the results have been far better. The last episode was the highlight but all have been good.

As we speak itv execs are considering bringing back "The Tomorrow People" to go up against the next series of "Dr Who", they have already pensiled in "Ant and Dec" in the lead roles

I notice that Star Wars isn't even in the schedule for Saturday 28th May, it's X-Men, according to the Radio Times website anyway.

They've already trailed they're showing all 4 movies, so what's going on here ?

I think they`d get more respect (not much more) if they showed the ORIGINAL version of the ORIGINAL Star Wars - with a "see where it all began" in the publicity.

As it is, they`ve chosen the weakest Star Wars film - so any novelty value is lost. I think it`s in for a trouncing.

Yes, but more people will have seen the original "Star Wars", and maybe not so many people will have seen "Phantom Menace".

And don't forget that this is ITV, so a fair proportion of the viewers won't care about it being a great film, as long as it's got explosions, action, SFX, and anything bright, shiny and familiarly comfortable about it.

I do think that "Phantom Menace" is capable of eating into a couple of million of Doc Who's ratings.
Which is a shame, as "The Empty Child" looks to be a great episode of Doctor Who, Rumour has it that it's the scariest story of the series.

And even if the show *did* exist in a permanent 1969, it would only smack of bad judgement if it stopped being popular, but it seems to have retained its place as an ITV ratings banker.

They can't. Nobody can. Official edict from Lucasfilm - the original 1977 Star Wars is no longer available for theatrical or TV screening or home video/DVD release, and hasn't been since the 1997 Special Editions.

Yes, ITV had shown a trailer, saying that they were showing The Phantom Menace, A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back & Return of the Jedi. That's 4.

However, looks like they've gone back on this now, and are only showing Phantom Menace this Saturday, and X-Men next week.
