I know Natasha was a reluctant participant and winner of the first ever Strictly, but why is she never mentioned?

Whenever they pull out stats on ITT, they never mention her. This was particularly noticable this evening when they were talking to Nagaland showed past Breakfast contestants yet no mention of Natasha?

She never liked the spotlight so is this her doing?

May be because they only had 3 judges then and also the week 1 & 2 started later.

Is it because history is rarely taught in schools these days?

Or is it that one year she was promoted as "The Face of the BBC," then jumped ship.

“I got completely forced and put into a corner at the BBC,” Natasha says. “I’d just started at BBC Breakfast and obviously the bosses at Strictly had a shopping list and a newsreader was on it and I was their easiest target.

“I honestly tried every single excuse not to do it, but I was cajoled and in the end I ran out of excuses. I was absolutely petrified.

“It’s not easy to be a female in the journalistic world.

"I worked very hard to get to the BBC and I felt really concerned that Strictly Come Dancing was going to change how people would perceive me and to a certain degree it did.

“I felt very self-conscious about putting on sequinned clothes and performing, because that wasn’t my job.

"My job wasn’t about me, it was about the news, so to suddenly put myself in the middle of the dance floor on a Saturday night was insane – I was the most nervous I have ever been in my life.”

That's pretty strong so perhaps the Beeb is being prudent here.

May be she doesn't want to be reminded of the affair???

There was probably only so much space on the graphic, and they wanted to focus on the people Naga had worked with so they could use it as a conversation piece. I know not all of the other Stat Attacks have been exhaustive either - they didn't have Roger Black or Audley Harrison on the Olympians one for examle.

Well that worked well ...

ZOE: What do you think of that, Naga?
NAGA: I think we all have really big heads

Maybe it was because she had the audacity to be quite good.

Haha I noticed that on both segments they have done with newsreaders... I remember the first footage of Natasha with Brendan showing her how to hook up her dress and she was all "yah, just NO"... she eventually got into it when they did the foxtrot but it took Brendan weeks of battling... quite amusing at the time though!!!

maybe she didn't want to be reminded of her time participating

Maybe because the marks were generally much lower in the earlier series and tens were really hard to come by? Her mark would probably have been unreasonably low in comparison to the others.

No, Natasha's combined score for her first two dances was 58, which was higher than everyone mentioned bar Susanna, who got 59.

My only memory of Natasha is their showdance to "I've had the time of my life" (obviously a Brendan choice), she was wearing a cream dress and slightly dark tights.
After the Standard Cole Slide-this-girl-across-the-floor move, she gets up and just before her dress hem falls, you can see two great big holes in the knees of her tights.

For those who don't know Natasha, here she is doing the jive to 'Jump, Jive & Wail' - the same song Louise & Kevin did their jive to two weeks ago.

Clip also includes that now rare beast called "training footage"!! Ah, the good ol'days...

Ooh, thanks for that. I certainly haven't forgotten them. They had a special chemistry and she is wonderfully elegant woman.
