Been listening to some of his latest tracks - absolutely awful. His voice has gone and is just croaky. He (like McCartney) needs to accept that his singing days are over and to go rest on his laurels.

I heard a couple and he doesn't sound croaky in the slightest.

They don't go on forever do they......

I was a big Stones fan when I was young but the last couple of times I've seen them I just wish they'd retire........they're already a parody, they could become a laughing stock which would be sad

Haven't heard any of Maurice Gibb's recent songs but I was very impressed with Robin Gibb's foray into popular classical music with his 'Titanic Requiem'..........give it a listen on YouTube if you haven't heard it

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2juYo7pqUCQ

I also enjoyed some of Macca's classical work, particularly 'Standing Stone'........even though it was panned by the classical music critics and there is some doubt as to how much was McCartney and how much was his 'assistants'

Perhaps that's what old Rockers should do.......try their hand at popular Classical

I haven't heard Barry Gibb's latest stuff but I agree with you about Paul McCartney. His voice has gone. Same goes for Elton John. In fact the only singer from that era I've seen recently whose voice is still good is Roger Daltrey.

But I do have some sympathy. If that's what you've done all your life and you enjoy it, it must be hard to acceptwhen it's time to stop.

Also feel sorry for Barry Gibb. All of his brothers, who were so much part of his working life as well as his private life are now dead so maybe continuing to make music is his way of filling the gap.

Lol. 😄. Was about to say he's put together a new group with Elvis on backing vocals and Prince playing lead Harp.

I agree on Barry Gibb but Paul McCartney does NOT have to accept his singing days are over at all I saw Paul Live just 2year ago and Paul still sounds amazing he also sings 30 odd songs in his shows, Fans still pay a fortune to see Paul his shows are Amazing and just last year he was voted the BEST LIVE ACT he had younger people up against him too but he still won!! I am dying to see him again seen him 9 times and he has been awesome everytime!!
My 18 year old daughter came to see Paul with me and she thought Paul was fantastic wants to see him again soon.

Paul is on tour now filling out STADIUMS as we speak so NO his singing days are NOT behind him, Bet none of you saying they are have seen him live.

When I heard him start singing on Strictly on Sunday.
I thought his "new song" started off much like this old one by the Zombies.
A far better tune.

He had a huge round of applause on Later Live with Jools Holland last week. They seldom show the audience on that show but they did when he was on as they were really enjoying his performance.

I saw Billy Joel in Manchester a couple of years ago and Jeff Lynne in Liverpool earlier this year - and both their voices were terrific.

Tomorrow it will be a year since my newest favorite went forward. Clips from three of his shows that happened earlier in the year are at You Tube. There is definitely a difference in his voice there, but to me, the late beautiful precious Billy Joe Royal is still very much worth the listening to. In my opinion, a singer having the physical and mental ability to get out there still should be taken into consideration before saying that they are done because sadly some have not been so lucky: Glen Campbell has Alzheimer's Disease, Donna Fargo has MS, and 80's country singer K.T. Oslin has Parkinson's Disease, so none of them are out there anymore.

God bless you and them always!!!

I still like his voice - I think it sounds different because we're so used to hearing the Gibb harmonies, and of course that's no longer possible. I'd much rather listen to him than the plethora of autotuned boobs-on-a-stick/dick-on-a-stick "singers" who seem to have invaded the current music scene.

Glad to hear Billy Joel is still in good voice. I saw him live years ago and he was terrific.

I have heard Barry sing his new album title track on a couple of shows now and he sounded really bad, sad to say. As part of that trio, it was about the harmonies. Singing alone, it doesn't sound good. He can still write good songs of course, maybe he needs to just be a writer for other people now. When he appeared at Glastonbury this year, he sounded bad then too. And I write this as a fan of the Brothers Gibb.
