Buying youview box
If I buy a youview box from somewhere like argos will I still be able to receive all talktalk services or will it only work with the catchup service as looking to get a youview box that can record but don't want to pay the price talktalk want every month for a box that will record
Any help would be helpful and thanks in advance |

The box will work the same as a normal freeview recorder. If you connect it to broadband, you'll get catchup like iplayer and itv hub, all 4, My5. Things like Netflix and uktv may also be on the box.
You're not going to get any premium channels unless you subscribe to TalkTalk or BT services. |

Don't buy a Youview box from Argos.
I got my sister the 1TB T2000 Youview box from Currys about a month ago for £199 and Argos are selling the Youview T2000 500GB version for the same price as I payed for the T2000 1TB Youview box for my sister or you could go for the BT branded G4 Youview box 500GB for about £149 from Argos or £139 from Currys. If you are a TalkTalk subscriber, it will accept whatever TalkTalk services you subscribe to (TalkTalk Player, Sky channels etc), but you will probably need to do a software update to enable them.
The one to go for is the BT DTR-T2110 (BT's YouView recorder). This has a bigger hard drive than TalkTalk's Huawei box (500Gb as opposed to 320), is much faster in operation and has a significantly better remote. It is made by Humax, so high quality is pretty well assured. Argos sell it for £149.99, but if you have a PC World nearby, it is only £133 there. I did this a couple of years ago and have not regretted it. |

I have two talktalk youview boxes, both bought from gumtree. £30 each, Also try shpock. The people selling get them free from talktalk so quids in for them, and in my opinion for me too.
Both boxes have been excellent in use with full on demand working without a glitch. |
