Samsung tv mute/volume

I have a 2 year old Samsung Smart TV. For a few weeks now, when I am watching BBC iplayer or ITV player, and I press mute or adjust the volume, the player just switches off.

Anyone know what the problem might be. Would a problem like this be covered by the guarantee?

Try doing a Factory Defaults reset (or whatever Samsung call it). This will wipe it back to 'out of the box" state so you will have to go through the initial set up procedure again. Plus put back any custom settings you may have made in the Picture and Sound menus for example.

But it might just clear the fault.

Even something as simple as switching off at the mains, leaving it for a couple of minutes or longer, then powering back up could reset whatever glitch is causing it.
