The next 2 episodes are on Saturday at 1pm and 1.30pm. I'm not sure about the remaining episodes though.

Loving this show, really glad E4 has picked it up.
I can't understand what they have done with the scheduling though, to shift a show normally in a 7:30pm weekday slot to the weekend.

There is only one episode I didn't really like, the shooting one. It came across as far too preachy and "boo hoo aren't we hard done by", doing the usual thing of making out black people are always victims of the police because of their skin colour, even though the US Police shoot far more white people than they do black. It just didn't fit in with the premise of the show, a spoiled family that lives a life of luxury and privilege, not a life of crime in gun filled ghettos.

So only people who live in the ghettos should be concerned with police brutality? It doesn't matter that they are a rich family living in the suburbs, they are still affected by these things. Not forgetting that Dre and his parents weren't always so well off.

Yup I can understand that any Black family in the US will always be wary of a traffic stop, particularly if you're a successful Black person driving an expensive car alone at night.

But this "very special episode" ceased to be entertaining and became preaching especially as I suspect most of the White audience watching are already on their side and those who they really need to talk to weren't watching the show in the 1st place

The new series also started off with a couple of "preachy" episodes but thankfully that has stopped

It was just a way to show horn in a bit of "poor black people" propaganda.
There are more white people that get shot in America than there are black, although if you listen to some people you would actually believe it is the other way round.

It is like me worrying about what goes on in the estates where I grew up, places that are not far from being English versions of black ghettos right now.

Blackish is a Sitcom about an upper middle class African-American family that live in suburbia, a show that often uses the characters 'acting white' for comedic effect, it just didn't fit in with the show at all.

Although they did at least try to show a little balance with the way the children acted, but the whole thing overall was "poor us". It tarnished the reputation of the show a bit.

I really want to know what the hell E4 are playing at showing the episodes. They have got to ep18 of series 2 and seem to have given up.

What is the premise of the show if it not about an upper middle class African-American family that live in suburbia and live a generous lifestyle?

It certainly isn't a program that focuses on the average life of the black families of America, in which this subject would have been far more appropriate.

It does impact all Black families though, Black people are more likely to be stopped by the police and as I said someone like Dre driving an expensive car is bound to attract more police attention than a white man driving the same vehicle

I would say that living in a wealthy suburban neighbourhood he would be more likely to be stopped by police and ask him what he's doing there, though suburban towns only have police forces of around 5o uniformed officers and thus would soon know him and his car

I disliked the episode for not being a Sitcom and choosing to lecture but it would have been relevant to all Black families regardless of Class

Just wondering if anybody knows what has happened to this? Series 2 seems to have come to an abrupt end on E4 without all the episodes being shown, and no sign in the listings of the remaining episodes coming up.

Not everything gets shown to get people onside or to teach people a lesson. It was just covering a relevant topic and trying to depict the state of things in America when it comes to police brutality and black people, with comedic value. I personally thought they did a good job with it but if others thought different then that's fine.

The fact that they moved it from primetime weekdays to a Saturday afternoon suggests it wasn't getting a lot of ratings I think. Sadly, can't find anything to confirm if they've actually given up on it.

I would imagine it's just on hiatus for a while. By showing new episodes daily they were always going to catch up with the US pace quite quickly, which is only on Episode 10 of Season 3, so I imagine they'll keep it off for a few weeks and start showing it again, probably once or twice a week.

They only got as far as episode 18 of 24 of season 2 though. They could still show an episode once a week and still be far enough behind the US.

This is E4 we're talking about

I think we just have to be grateful for whatever we get, whenever we get it !
