I've got a feeling Ryan could be a bit of an underdog this series. He's got that Vamps / 5 Seconds of Summer vibe about him which could prove to be popular within that hard core of fans and with free App voting he could come under the radar.

think he has about as much chance of winning as Honey.

Im voting for him

Vocally one of the poorest to get through but he's a good looking lad with an energy about him which should allow him to work the stage.

I can see him being 'looked after' with song choices, OTT praise from the judges and favourable voting if reaches the bottom two.

He's tailor made to be part of boyband though.

I don't think he's the underdog

The underdogs were sent packing last week.

Ryan is likely through to make Matt stand out more in comparison, (similar boyband member appeal, talented, but not as much vocal ability) and possibly as a backup plan for the male pop winner /finalists the producers want to promote this season should Matt somehow not come through in the lives(unlikely).

Is he not Emily's boyfriend? Is he in the finals for the romance angle? Or am I just a cynic?

not sure how that would work on XF with your typical voter

if anything an on show "romance" would probably count against both

They are an item according to the tabloids, but you never know with these sort of things.

I think Samantha n Freddie are the underdogs
big bang theory

I can't see Ryan lasting too long as Matt Terry will eat up his vote.

He's this year's Sam Callahan. Hopefully his Dad is less deluded.

Unless of course they're acting as beards for each other...

but still think given ryan would be relying on the "teeny girl" vote that portraying him in a relationship would lose that

To be fair his Dad was gonna defend his son, that's really harsh lol.

I'd certainly be happy if someone wrapped him up and left him under my tree this year...

If the producers can pull off the much expected sing-off between Ryan and Emily then they really will have gotten the manipulation down to a fine art.

Sure. But perhaps he's not the priority. Perhaps she is.

I dunno, I'm not even seriously suggesting it as such but...

1/ These shows are all about storylines. They haven't done this one before. I think the closest they might have come would be Eoghan's embarrassing stage invasion after Diana Vickers got eliminated.

2/ Googling him I came across this picture https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CH5QIlHWEAEc4of.jpg and, I don't know for sure, not being a teenage girl, but I don't think turning away and sticking your bum towards the viewer is designed particularly to particularly titillate the ladies, more a certain kind of boy

3/ A partnered female is much less of a 'no-no' - the 'wouldn't steal your boyfriends' schtick worked a treat for Little Mix after all.

Again, I'm not saying I believe any of this. Just offering up a different possibility here (I don't really believe they'd particularly want Emily Muddlemess to win, for instance)

Oh, interesting. Maybe there's some credence to my theory after all!

Must say though I doubt they want another girl winning again this year, but who knows.
