Unlocking iPhone
Hi,
A friend has given me her old I-phone, which is locked to Vodaphone. I'm on O2 and would prefer to stay there. How do I get the darn thing unlocked? I've been given so much conflicting advice my head be spinning ![]() ![]() Pretty sure there's a brilliant person on here who can tell me. I am willing to plead. Thank you in advance etc

Your friend could ask Vodafone, it's free if it's an old contract phone iirc. If they can't/won't your next option is to use an eBay unlocker (not the scam websites, avoid them).
I've used mobilecare2010 and appleexpress2013 a number of times without problem. Expect to pay £10-15 for most iPhone models. http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/mobilecare...p2047675.l2559 http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/appleexpre...p2047675.l2559 |

Will ask my friend again!

Will ask my friend again!Unlock form: https://www.vodafone.co.uk/vodafone-...-code-request/ The eBay unlockers take around 3-5 days usually and it's safe for you as you've got eBay and Paypal protection, the 2 I mentioned were both very good. |

O2 definitely can't, only the network that placed the lock can request it officially, if it's an old contract phone he just needs to request the unlock and it'll get done in 3-5 days if Vodafone don't screw up the request. If he owes them money they might not help.
