I don't think he's forgettable, per say - but I don't think he's quite as big a presence as perhaps some were expecting.

Despite being arguably the most well-known signing, he doesn't seem even remotely arrogant about it. Just works hard and gets on with it.

I dont think he is, he has a big fanbase and I predict he will do brilliantly this weekend and will be the top male celeb.

Fawn?

He's nothing to fawn over, just average as a person.

Will is a bit of an enigma. He is a very charismatic performer as anyone who saw him in Cabaret will attest to. He is also very bright and witty but he is modest and doesn't like to hog the limelight and has a very self deprecating humour. He pulled a muscle and messed up the jive last week. Give him time and he will start to shine as he did in Pop Idol.

I don't think you could ever call [him] average.

That suggests a rather large percentage of the people you know are like Will Young. I don't know if my circle is more limited but I've known only one, maybe two, with a similar sense of humour / mix of qualities. The difficult element to achieve is what seems to be a complete lack of nastiness in his character. I really think he's an odd guy! He's talented and effacing, flamboyant and lowkey, deadpan/waspish but without bitchiness... all washed down with intelligence and terrible dress sense.

Is your town or village really overpopulated by people like this!?

To be honest I can't be assed to argue about it. It's hardly important.

I gave mine.

You can have any opinion you like about him, I don't mind.

Let's move on.

I saw him in Cabaret - the whole production and Will in particular blew me away. Agree with other posters he is quite a reserved character but can be eccentric in his choices around what he performs , dress etc. I've enjoyed his first two dances but the styling not my cup of tea at all. And he needs a haircut!!! But I like him. Loved the ref to pop idol and Cowell Sunday!

I hope so . I like Will except for his questionable fashion sense .

At some stage he'll need to stop acting like an eccentric uncle and start acting like a leading man. (I'm saying that as someone who should follow his own advice.)

The only thing Will is in danger is of becomming a laughing stockbecause of some of his wardrobe choices

I think he's playing things well. He's dancing well, not peaking too early dance wise, not being a show off and still keeping attention on him in small ways like when wearing untypically sexy training wear. He's got this sort of smile and laugh lots personality which I think people respond to quite well, as it comes across as light and less serious. Whereas other contestants that huff and puff over things can be seen as less easily watchable sometimes (as deemed taking themselves or the dancing too seriously). Danny has the shine on him dance wise, but I think Will (and Ore to some extent too) are positioned quite well behind him in terms of overall male focus.

Not with me. I like that he is comfortable enough in his own skin to wear whatever he fancies.

And I don't find him remotely beige, unless beige means interesting, articulate and witty.

I think this weekend will be Will's and Robert's, sure to shine and trend on twitter.

He does nothing for me (looks or personality wise) either way.
He's not yet wow'ed me on the dance floor.
Until he does, yes he's my forgotten man.
Each to their own - and I'm always open to persuasion, week by week!

I've always liked Will Young as a singer. He's a born performer on stage but off stage he's quite quiet and shy. I'm not sure this is his sort of show, with so many attention seeking and in your face celebs, he looks a bit lost at times.

The problem is though he has not shown any of that so far on Strictly and that was the question - "Is he in danger of becoming the forgotten man of Strictly 2016" - and for some viewers (not diehard fans) that will be how he is seen at the moment. However, we have only watched 2 weeks so far - plenty of time for him to shine and show his personality.

I liked Will on PI and am aware of some of the stuff he has done since but I agree, so far, he has been overshadowed on Strictly.

Will is rather posh.
He's taupe or caramel

It's early days yet, but he hasn't made much of an impression on me so far.

There are some very big personalities this year though, and so maybe it is all relative.

The OP talks about being a 'forgotten man' as if that's a bad thing. I suggest that if being on SCD becomes the thing a person is mostly remembered for in the twighlight of their showbiz career, then they obviously didn't do very much else. If Will Young is remembered at all in twenty or something years time - and I have no reason to believe he won't be - I'm sure he'd rather be remembered for much more than simply being a contestant on SCD. I daresay it's an interesting diversion for him, but I doubt he'll want it to be the pinnacle of his achievements.

The BBC may regard him as being a big draw this year, but I doubt he sees it that way himself. He just seems to go quitely about his business without feeling the need to be OTT or in your face or whatever it is the OP thinks he needs to be doing to get his attention.
