I still maintain most are really gay but cant quite say that word so bi is the default easier option. I say this because I used say I was bi in my younger days but then I grew up and now dont care what others think of me.

Are they eating more and not exercising enough then?

Are we sure more people aren't just experimenting?

In a similar light, I maintain that sexuality is a fabrication of society, and that we're all simply sexual, it's just some of us have a stronger attraction to members of the same or opposite sex.

I concede that SOME might be gay and not ready to 'come out'. But the idea that MOST bisexuals are actually gay is absolute bollocks - it's a messed up myth. I've heard it said by loads of straight and gay people (particularly men) and it's every bit as arrogant and ignorant as "you're not gay, you just haven't met the right person".

I don't think we have more bisexuals, I just think we have more out bisexuals.

The OP needs a lifejacket. They seem to be drowning in stereotypes.

I think as we live in a freer and a more liberal society, people are able to be more comfortable with their sexuality and hopefully there's less concern about what others think.

A person's sexuality is just one of many aspects that make up the complete person.

I once read an article where it said everyone is bisexual to a greater or lesser degree.

But then as Woody Allen once said...

"I'm 100% heterosexual, but I will concede being bisexual does double your chance of a date on a Saturday night..."

Some places are freer and more liberal but where I live homophobia still reigns supreme, unfortunately.

It doesnt matter which label makes people comfortable with themselves. As love as their happy and dont hurt others....

Or they might generally be attracted to both sexes (like me for one).

People assume there are no genuine bisexuals because the only ones they're aware of are the ones that prefer men who, by necessity, have to come out.

The bisexuals who prefer women live as straight men, so we never get to see them.

As they said in Sex and the City, ' the bisexual guys always ended up with men, so did the bisexual women'

I think that we as a society are more acceptable to different sexualities than we were 20/30/40+ years ago and this does make people more willing to disclaim what they identify themselves with.

The article does mention a very key point that I feel true to myself. I am bisexual, I have had relationships with both sexes yet I am now happily married to a man. It doesn't mean I am "straight". I still see women I find attractive very often. Ultimately we have to "choose" a side should we want a long term relationship. I didn't expect it to be with a man to be fair as I always enjoyed women's company more but then I met my husband and I realised he was the one.

They're just not fussy and any taboos have reduced. No desire involved except for sex with anyone.

It does amuse me the amount of tumblrs I've perused where the profile claims to be a 'bi' male, and all of the pics/vids have been of... males

No they're not.

People can be attracted to both sexes.

Only time an issue is if they are messing men and women about at the same time, and anyone straight, gay, bi can be guilty of that.

Except when they're standing aloofly in the corner of some gay bar clutching their pint.

Not sure Woody Allen's sexual predilections are something anyone really wants to think about these days.
