Tom Hollander and Suzanne Evans...perfect combination to kill any humour stone dead.

I liked Hollander as Cal Richards but he he's too restrained by the format. A shadow of "the ****er"

Excellent show. It's satire not comedy. Try Michael McIntyre or similar if you are after laughs - there again.....

I'm fully aware of what it is thanks!

In my opinion, it was a poor show, Hollander looked stilted and there was a lack of energy from the panel, compared to last week.

After the comments here I was expecting something terrible and to have to turn off partway through. But it was pretty good. The presenter had a dull delivery but both guests got involved.

Nothing worse than a guest who hardly says anything and you start worrying on their behalf.

Too much "UKIP" are funny type stuff, even if they are we don't want 1/2 the programme dedicated to it

It looked as though nobody had shown Hollander the script before the show - he seemed seriously unprepared. Also if I want Jack Dee deadpan, I'd rather get it from Jack Dee.

At least with Nigel Farage moving into the background we do not have to hear that corny mispronunciation of his surname. And of course all the fellow members of the stand-up "comedians" union roar with laughter every time they hear it!

The show is sometimes funny and sometimes stale, the usual suspects get a roasting followed by Ian Hislop pulling that weirdly over-smug grin or looking open-mouthed at the audience.

Paul Merton occasionally contributes when he can pull his eyes away from the guest presenter's auto-cue.

True though in Suzanne Evans case i think she would have been better off saying nothing as she put her foot in it every time from "we aren't against immigration" to Trumps tweets being "only a bit of fun"!

She was fodder for Hislop and Merton appeared genuinely shocked at her Trump comment.

Why does every show have to target the same people? Like i get that you can have endless "banter" attacking all the usual, Trump, Farage, Corbyn, Boris...but it gets a bit stale.

It also sometimes would appear a bit patronising and sneering. Why is there never as many segments dedicated to frontline Tories either BTW? This isn't even a recent thing, during the 2015 election Ed Miliband was featured basically every show doing something "daft" or with a "silly expression", yet there was only ever mild satire directed at Cameron on very limited occasions.

That must be the Right wing BBC bias, then.

It must be admitted that much of that was Milliband's fault by doing things that were obviously going to be picked up by the media. Rather like the famous quote about his brother - "If you look a bit like a monkey then don't be photographed eating a banana".

I agree he needs resting. Maybe the whole thing needs resting as long as another outlet for Ian Hislop is found.

Not a clue who he is and what an awful presenter he is. No character whatsoever.

I am off to Google him.....

He was one of the baddies in The Night Manager. I didn't recognise him at first with the glasses.

Hislop has done some pretty good history documentaries and Merton did a very interesting one about request stop railway stations, so far out in the middle of nowhere trains only stop if you put your hand out!

Surely the weeks subject matter can and does make a huge difference too.

Seems a very odd description of a programme that lampoons all sides of politics, and which very rarely has anyone on the panel who is on the "far left".

If anything it's veered too far right.
