Pauls 'guest' on the show tonight is a leather handbag.

Conservative MP Nicky Morgan was scheduled to appear but pulled out after crticising Theresa Mays £995 leather trousers which upset Downing St.

Morgan owns a £1000 designer leather handbag.

Well she's just following Tory tradition of hypocrisy!

Last show tonight!

Thoughts on the series as a whole?

I think it's been average, worse than the Spring one this year which was very good but by no means a bad one overall.

Gary Lineker is always a good host so should be a great show tonight.

It's billed as 10/11 tonight, though I'm guessing next week's will just be an outtakes show.

The last episode of a series is always a highlights show.

It's only the last episode of the last series of the year - the last episode of the first series is a normal episode.

Didn't realise the smug, liberal elitist luvvie Lineker was hosting it.

Is he going to call people racist and tell them to f*ck off if they don't agree with him again?

I don't mind as much if they're comedians or actors, but Lineker has the humour and delivery of a plank of wood on top of that left wing entitlement he has.

Another one of Ian's far to one Question Time-esque rants met with complete silence, about Southern Rail there.

At least Paul has had to wake up, what with him not having a panelist.

To me it seemed within the context of the show, sometimes they can be uncomfortable I agree, this time not in my opinion.

Anyway, fantastic show, Lineker always a great host, had a dig at everyone, love Jon Richardson, Ian and Paul on form.

Replacing Nicky Morgan with a handbag is essentially the tub of lard joke regurgitated again - not so amusing second time around. Overall the show was fairly good - a 7/10 from me.

I wondered elsewhere whether they would do that again, it was much better than just bringing in someone else.

The Tub of Lard was 1993. I don't think we can accuse the programme of over-playing that particular joke.

You called it right.

When I first read she wasn't going I thought back to the tub of lard but presumed there would be a comic who would be happy to go on a short notice. For posterity it's funnier with the bag though. Somehow I doubt she'll be going on next series like Roy Hattersley did.

All I can hear is Harry Enfield as Andy Parson's saying "It's the Daily Mail!"

That's what this post "sounds" like.

Blimey don't the years fly by? Ian Hislop must still have had a full head of hair in those days.

I think you might be projecting your own obvious dullness onto Gary.

I thought Lineker did ok as host. At least he gets into the spirit of the show. The old bag didn't have much to say though so i hope that 'guest' wasn't paid.

What do you mean, "again"? Has he ever done that?

Didn't watch last night. I won't watch anything Lineker presents.

Well, not technically any one person. He called the Sun racist when they had a front page story that was racist. I'm sure they felt very hurt and it absolutely did not get more people to buy their paper to see what the fuss was about..

However, over reacting to completely vacuous twitter spat in the way Damien has done is frankly hilarious.

He was quite good. I wouldn't usually watch anything he does either but I think this was easily his best HIGNFY. The others were all on good form so it was an enjoyable episode.
