Ee Carmel
Is anyone else getting as fed up with her as I am?
I feel the show is forcing Carmel onto us constantly, if she isn't lording it over the mere market stall holders she is going from character to character sticking her nose into literally everyones business/storyline! She has become an interfering busybody! When Jane wet herself in the pub Carmels "discreet" announcement of "Ian- I think Jane needs you!" just managed to alert the whole pub to the situation.. Also the scene with her big bed where she teased Kush about being conceived in it was just weird.. total cringe! |

I don't really understand the hate for Carmel all of a sudden. Bonnie Langford was a surprise casting and it's worked truly well! I like her and Kush, but not Shakil. It was refreshing to see the Kazemi's without him.

I had warmed to Carmel but since they had her show interest in becoming market inspector and subsequently get the job she has become so annoying! When she went to see Masood's house and was flirting with the estate agent and then fell backwards off the sofa ... wtf was that about

Really loathe Carmel, a bitter and man obsessed woman. I'm hoping a few of the market traders corner her when no one is looking, then just start working the boot in. Roxy, Martin, Donna, Kush, the lot of them.

I find her annoying as well. The scene with her falling off the sofa at Masood's wasn't remotely funny.

I love Carmel! It's great she's finally getting more screentime and development. I get fed up of most of the shoved down our throats bunch who are: Mick, Phil, Sharon and Jane.

I used to really like Carmel, but like Linda's Mother Elaine she is becoming an interfering busybody.
I am not adverse to busybodies, but they need to stop her being so overbearing. |

Shes great! How is she interfering? She is a friend of Jane's she wasn't randomly getting involved. She is definitely I HOPE going to be around for a long time she brings flavour to the show.

She's been a surprisingly good addition to the cast.
Langford has shown she can do the real drama (Shabnams stillbirth) and is a fairly realistic character. Lots of mothers are a bit cringe and over-the-top. I find it interesting to have a single, confident, promiscuous woman in her early 50s as well. She could always be a gangster who secretly murders people though, I guess. |

I don't particularly dislike her, but I was just thinking today how much she's been featuring in the show. She's in practically every episode! Has anyone got one of those interesting lists that shows how many characters have had the most appearances over the year? I'm sure she would be near the top! Probably the most prominent "B List" character in a long time.

I like Carmel. She can be annoying but she's still a decent person. I like her relationship with Kush and Shakil. I also like her friendship with Denise. Plus Bonnie Langford is a good actress.

I've only started watching again this week after giving up just after Lucy's murder in 2014, so this is the first I've seen of her character and I think she's great!
Masood returning kinda spoiled my enjoyment of her scenes a little, because like Denise, Phil, Sharon, Shirley, Stacey, Lauren, Ian and Ben, I find him exhausted as a character and I can't be bothered with him. Carmel though I found warm, funny and interesting ,much more engaging than any of the familiar lot. |

Carmel was okay and even occasionally fun when she was a supporting player and not played so much, but "The Bonnie Langford Show" must stop. Totally annoying now. I hope she leaves with Mas.

I really don't see how it's "The Bonnie Langford Show"
EE have gone out of their way to insert her into everything, make her market inspector so she is central to everything going on all the time. Martin and Stacey couldn't even have a simple 3 day storyline about getting a new house without Carmel being shoehorned in and trying to take the house from them. I know DS can be fickle, but I honestly feel people are justified in being annoyed by her at the moment- she is literally there every time someone turns around! I quite liked her when she first showed up. What turned me off was when she "acting" like market inspector (randomly) and yet insisting she would not go for the job- yet we all knew she would and typical of soap as soon as someone decides they are going for a job like that- they seem to be able to get it... it's annoying! (Granted this is writers faults) |

Sharon is in most episodes talking to people is she being shoehorned in as well? Carmel has just become Market Trader they are quite obviously going to focus on her for a while before the last few weeks she was underused I am glad they are developing her character. Carmel wanted to move house and obviously to help keep people watching they need to put a hurdle in the way. It really isn't "The Bonnie Langford show" was it "The Den and Angie show" when they were very prominent in EastEnders? No nothing is bigger than the show itself.
