When she comes on Zoe's ITT on a Thursday I have to mute the sound. Her ridiculous and constant cackle is so annoying. And she has little of interest to say. It's mostly about how much they will have to cut off the hem on Friday!!

Yup. Very annoying to watch someone grin and giggle like a 13 yr old all through a segment .
Don't get me started on her 'designs' .
She wears canary yellow shoes too , no wonder the contestants are dressed like explosions in a charity shop .

Life must be fabulous if someone who giggles grinds your gears.

I like seeing all the designs, and it's nice to hear from the person who makes it all happen.

I think it's more a defence mechanism than anything. She hasn't seemed to have become accustomed to having a camera shoved in her face. Anyway, I personally don't mind the giggling so much - I enjoy what she has to say about the costuming

So do I, his comments were entertaining.

But in reply to the OP, no she doesn't irritate me, I find her rather sweet.

I think she's lovely.

I dread to think how I would come across on tv if I had to explain every week what I'd done in my job to Zoe Ball.

Sorry, but yellow shoes are, "in."

We've no idea of the budget for wardrobe.
When the BBC were really chasing ratings, they were throwing money at it. I'd suggest that now they're cutting back where they can, so it'll be on the cost of fabrics etc., and particularly the number of dressmakers employed.

Perhaps some of the budget has gone on all that distracting lighting effects?

Vicky Gill isn't a professional presenter, she's a dressmaker. Gibe her a break!

I've had to say that on another thread the other day.

This forum is teaching me how lazy I am about folk on tv. I don't care if they're sleeping with each other. Or when they stop. Giggles don't irk me. It's a happy noise. I can't whip up a decent outrage when someone gets injured. I don't mind Will Young's choice of costume. I've even been known to laugh at an Anton joke

I actually quite like her, and I have zero interest in dresses, LOL. I think the problem is she is ultra nervous and Zoe is going at hyperspeed talking and whizzing through that segment of the show and it all adds up to make her giggle as a defence to just screaming in utter terror. When they see her backstage in her own work room with her girls she is a lot more calm and collected.

She's not a celebrity, just a normal woman doing a job on a show, so I'm willing to cut her some slack. She's a better talker than Dave Arch. Five minutes of normality with Vicky Gill is better than 5 minutes of the silliness they generally use for filler on ITT.

Yep , life is fabulous . But even so , Zoe could do that section much better . She's worn that kind of tatt and to be honest , as a dressmaker and alterations expert ( Heather blows on nails and buffs them smugly) I have only ever heard her use any dressmaking terminology about 5 times ever . Because that segment is only aimed at showing us pretty (crap mostly) dresses and anyone from Zoe to Ian to Karen to the lady who cleans the bogs could pull it off .

I love her costumes and wish I could do what she does (I've costumed a number of amateur shows so know what a difficult job it is). Her designs and costumes are fabulous. Sometimes, the costume team have to cater to the needs/whims etc of the contestant and producers so the costume ends up not being quite what was originally intended, but you can't win them all. I hope she never makes the mistake of Ore's trousers from week 1 though

I was disappointed when he became a contestant because I knew if it went badly he wouldn't be back to discuss attire.

I like her - she has a very fetching smile - BUT if she's responsible for those drawings, I despise the fact that she makes the women's hips twice as wide as their shoulders. I can't imagine why, other than her having some kind of weird fetish about pear shapes.

Tango is a Ballroom dance though, unless you mean Argentine Tango?

Have you thought she may have been told to keep the technical terminoligy (sp?) To a minimum so that the vast majority who have no dressmaking experience have a chance of understanding what is meant?
