Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but the whole Steve, Tim and the footballer storyline seems very rushed and quite silly....wonder if these scenes were shot as last second replacements for those featuring Sharif which had to be edited out??

Have scenes with Sharif had to be edited out?

DS article says producers are going to "minimise his presence where possible"

Well they did that by sacking him. can't get more minimised than that.

Those scenes with Tommy Orpington were embarrassing. Not him but Steve and Tim's reaction. Corrie at its worst.

That would make sense that it was filler to replace Sharif scenes

Hadn't thought of it like that but yeah o suppose they had to fill the edited scenes with something!!
Tim's one of my favourite characters but this footballer thing has been every bit as awful as it first sounded and more!!
Him & Steve just aren't working for me so far but that's more to do with the ruination of Steve's character over the last few years which seems to have gone into overdrive since he returned from his time in Spain!!

I agree. It's been cringeworthy. I used to love Tim, but over the past few months he has been really overacting and rolling his eyes about and it's dreadful to watch. What's happened to him? It's like he is playing Fr. Dougal visits the Corrie set now.

But probably on par with the usual nonsense of late.

I like the characters involved so I'm actually enjoying the scenes. Steve and Tim's starstruck reactions have amused me. It's good to see some male bonding and people having a laugh.

The storyline was definitely supposed to happen as it was in the soap mags the week before.

It's great to see Matt on screen again - loved him in Hollyoaks.

I am enjoying the scenes too, nice to have laugh for a change and he could make a good addition once the starstruck pair get used to him
