I appear to be getting through my data allowance of 4GB within a couple of weeks. That can't be right, can it? The odd thing is my usage habits havent changed since I upgraded from the S5 a few months back.

When I looked at which apps were using the most data, Twitter was way out in the lead! Now, I use Twitter but not to that extent, if anything I use Facebook a lot more.

I've done a few things like stop auto-playing videos, switch off mobile data when I'm not using it etc but I'm down to about 600mb left with 15 days to go.

I don't think I use my phone any more than anyone else!

Any tips for saving my data usage to make 4GB last a full month, as it should?

Does it have something like wifi assist or download booster switched on? That can burn through your data allowance. Think its in wifi settings, turn it off if it's on.

Go into Settings and Data Usage and it will show you what apps have used the most data.

Yes, as I said in my OP Twitter seemed to use the most data, which makes no sense....I mean, I'm on Twitter but certainly not that much. I've turned off video auto-play and picture previews.

Second is Facebook. I've turned auto-play videos off so hopefully that should work.

Let's see how it goes

Are you registered with "My EE"?
You can check your data consumption daily or as often as you wish each time you log on.
Twice in the last year I've burned my (very meagre) data allowance with no idea why.
On each occasion I spoke to them they refreshed me.

Ring up and haggle for some more data. They've got some amazing deals for existing customers at the moment.

Is your phone automatically updating applications? Could be that if it's doing it outside of a wireless internet connection.

Have a look at your phone bill online. It won't tell you what the data has been used for, but it will tell you *when* it was used, and that might give you a clue as to what's causing it.
