Or he deliberately steps out in front of her car? That would be a very interesting storyline as everyone would assume it was down to her bad driving but she and the audience would know the truth.

Now that would be a twist. Also gives Tameka the chance to prove she can deliver.

Yep, and from what I've seen she can do the dramatic stuff pretty well. I think it's something that could feasibly happen.

Lee will either commit suicide or be in a knocked down (or perhaps both in one as some people have mentioned).

We need to see the down to earth grit return to the show - not endless pantomime Mitchell gangster tosh (which is just hilarious for all the wrong reasons).

SOC is doing an excellent job so far and long may it continue.

The acid test will be when King Weeble becomes the main focus of the show (yet again).

I do hope not, as all the whining and wailing that would involve would be tedious and boring, they need to steer clear of all doom and gloom misery nonsense.

I can't help thinking a nice young man killing himself (especially at Christmas) would be too dark even for EastEnders. I know they've done suicides before (can only think of Stella right now, but she wasn't a likable character so didn't feel as tragic).

Can see them losing the baby, but that seems to happen too much in soaps.

I think babe is going to do something nasty to get one up on whitney, and Lee is gonna fall for it and get killed in the process. It's the only way the Carters will fully abandon Babe if Lee got hurt or even died.

I definitely think Lee will try to kill himself. Whitney loses the baby blames him, he continues to struggle to get a job. Falls into a downward spiral and tries to kill himself. Could be brilliant Classic Eastenders. Linda saves him potentially and goes off with her baby to help him get better. Over Xmas this would be immense.

I think Whitney will miscarry and Lee will not-so-secretly be relieved and maybe everyone will turn on him?
We saw what happened with Mick when he dared to admit he wasnt ready to be father.

Why?

For many people real life is a pitiful vale of misery, pain and tears and some just simply give up in the end.

At least a storyline like this would do something to address the moronic attitude still very prevalent in our society of 'pull yourself together' when someone is facing the abyss of severe clinical depression..

Someone said earlier that suicides are higher at Christmas. I think it would be a very brave storyline to tackle. I don't rate Dyer though so if Lee is going to die I hope Dyer doesn't let them all down with crap acting.

Christmas is a very dark time indeed for many people.

It is all about the rapture of lovers, the love of families and the joy of children.

The good will to all men cobblers does not apply to the sick, the lonely, the depressed, the betrayed.

Lee's suicide would be an excellent illustration of this.

I like Danny Dyer im sure he would be fine with the storyline

I was really looking forward to Lee and Whitney becoming a long term couple eventually ending up with the Vic as their own. I love the family unit they've got at the moment especially having invited Whitney in with the Carters. I'd like to see her still belong to that unit and of course, when Lee's departure was announced the first thing that sprang to mind were the stories we had many months ago which hinted that DTC originally intended for Lee to attempt suicide but which the writers ultimately felt were too much for the show. It would be incredibly brave of EE to bring this story back and tackle it at Christmas but it would also be very realistic. I will applaud them if this is what happens.
