I have to say with the current improvement on the quality of the writing, I'm more optimistic about a return for Cora than I was before. My issue was always with the characterisation and lack of development and not Anne's acting skills.”

As usual a very good post Scrabbler.

I think I have said this before but Sean O'Connor casted Ann in the 2011 Film 'A Deep Blue Sea' so I think he appreciates her as Actress. Scrabbler was correct the problem for Cora is that the writing has always been bloody awful. This EP is not Kirkwood, Newman or DTC - he could finally make Cora if not likeable but at least interesting.

It'll be interesting to see if Ann Mitchell and Gillian Taylforth have good onscreen chemistry. Ann's a much better actress though Gill, if given the right material, is decent in her own right. Cora and Kathy are both great-grandma to Louie. Plus both of them have acted together in the past in a one-off drama series in the mid-2000s.

I would like Kathy & Cora to share scenes, there is only a five year age difference in their characters however Ann Mitchell is a far more superior Actress than Gillian Taylforth.
