Corrie -Audrey Roberts

Not so long ago Audrey was completely in love with Ken Barlow, acting all jealous over him and nessa etc and we all thought Ken and Audrey would get it on.

Except Freddie has turned up and Audrey has suddenly forgotten her love for Ken (and that he exists) and is head over heels for Freddie.

Has she been taking tips off Caz about how to be weird and stalkerish? Her approach to Freddie in the middle of the night cos she was jealous of Rita and trying to get him to move in is a bit fast for someone who has barely given.

So Audrey seems to have had a sexual awakening (I blame that crush on Luke!) is she going to go all single white female?

I hope William Roache is okay, and hasn't had to cut down on filming thus leading to Freddy to be drafted into the plot.

He must be as he has a new storyline coming up starting next week.

So do you think that's what happened that this should of been Ken she was romancing not Freddie?

I don't know. Bill Roache just doesn't seem to be having much screen time recently. In the past two months he has only appeared in four episodes. Maybe he is cutting back the hours?

Either that or the writers have just 'forgotten' about Ken's involvement, which isn't a surprise as they do this with most of their storylines.

Audrey has always been something of a 'flipperty gibbert' where men are concerned, even when married to 'my Alfeeh' it didn't take much for her to be fluttering her eyelashes & acting all coy when another man was about!!
It's just part of her character I think & Ken did kind of mess her around a bit when Nessa piledrived him into a relationship!!
Also I guess there was always the slight guilt about Deirdre thing where Ken was concerned whereas Freddie's wife was probably just another customer & seemed to have been more a friend of Kylie's!

Maybe he has had a holiday before his big story. Actually I am interested to see what that is. maybe Kate changed the Ken and Audrey story to facilitate Ken having his own that leads to some of his family returning

Ivy called her "that flighty piece" in her diary for a reason!

I think Kate Oates came in and realised Ken and Audrey together was silly. They're too different and Audrey just wouldn't go for anyone like Ken. I'm glad, even if I still can't take to Freddie, he fits better with her.

Personally though, I wouldn't keep Freddie around anyway. He's always been a bit pointless, right from his contrived first appearance. It's like Derek Griffiths asked to be on the show and they got so excited they forgot to create a character. That being said, he had a nice scene with David the other day.

Eastenders have form for creating characters then adding the personality two years later Corrie are usually much better. I Do like Freddie tho those scenes with Rita and him suddenly recognising each other were bizarre and contrived reminded me of Kathy recognising old mother Hubbard after more than 30yrs!

I do agreee she is a better fit with Freddie than Ken.

Freddie is a wonderful character and the actor is just great... a welcome relief from the regulars on the street... Audrey bores me to tears ... for me both she and Gail are beyond boring characters...

I guess they decided against Audrey and Ken.

It is odd the way they abruptly dropped the Ken/Audrey story. They spent so long building up to it, even throwing in that silly love triangle with Nessa, and then...nothing. Not that I am complaining mind. It didn't sit well with me how soon Ken moved on from Deirdre.

Hopefully the terrible Roy/Cathy pairing will be the next one to be dropped.

Cathy and Roy have been together over a year now.

Hayley has been dead nearly three. I don't think it is too soon. I like Roy, Cathy and Alex together and they make a good family unit, not forgetting Tyrone and Fiz who fit with them too

Freddy is in deep trouble, being targeted by the geriatric crimper, he had the nerve to reject her advances to get him into her web.

She couldn't wait to get him to move in, although she refused to help her grand daughter and her children when they needed a roof over their heads.

Oh Freddie!, Be afraid Freddie, be very afraid. You don't know what you have done!
