Why?

Seems reasonable to me. Two singles etc.

Maybe because they aren't romantically interested in each other and it annoys them when people ship them?

It's when you think people should go out. e.g Amy and John would make a good couple, I ship them.

Do we know there is no interest? They have good chemistry and apparently there was no romantic interest between Goo (I like that) and Georgia. And we all know how that turned out.

Who knows, it would not surprise me if they get together.

We don't know it, but it probably isn't fair for them that people are forcing this on them.

They look great together and have way more chemistry than he and Georgia did.

I agree with you as it goes but it's never stopped rumours, ever, when there are two singles and even if they aren't single.

Shipping real people is rarely a good idea, well I suppose a mild interest is OK, but anything beyond that is a bit odd TBH.

That said the format of Strictly does encourage the romance angle of the partnerships and even if they don't start the tabloid rumours themselves they certainly give them a little nudge now and then. The show is a bit hypocritical like that.

I have no idea what Laura and Giovanni think of each other. However if I were advising him I'd say it was a good idea to not romance his dance partner this year lest he gets labeled the male Kristina. Not that I think Kristina deserved the flak, but still it's something that Giovanni could do without.

So, sad as it may be for the goolau shippers, I think that Giovanni and Laura may remain platonic. ...in public at least.

I think that it's an example Susan.

Shipping as a temr has been a around for a long time, mostly used in fictional characters and situations, but also on occasion with real life people, although some people (like me) feel a bit uneasy about it, but hey to each his or her own and all that.

If you want to look up batsh*t crazy real people shipping google 'larrystylison'. lol No! don't

I already found shipping in fiction odd, let alone real people

Well, me too. I'm an anti-romantic grouch wherever I post. Even tumblr, which is ship-mad.

I think Laura has set her sights higher than Gio. And Gio seems like a take what he can get kind of guy.
