Indeed, the term "ship" did. Heck, I've done it myself over the years with my favourite fictional TV characters. But "shipping" real people who may or may not be in a relationship is a more recent thing.

The showbiz section on DS has been very educational on the subject recently Twilght, Supernatural and 1D seem particularly ... favoured?

Oh my goodness .....As an approaching 60 year old I had no idea my language was that of a teenager I'm absolutely thrilled..
As for the 'Goo' that mystified one or two forumites, I did explain that it was meant to be 'GIO' in my opening post..hey ho, predictive text and all that..
Anyway, what I meant, was that all the talk of the 'romance' between the two was leaving me feeling a bit nauseous - that was all.

I don't like the idea of romance between any of them - if they want to get their rocks off, do it in their own time and on their own money - not funded by the BBC license fees. I want to watch people learning to dance

Oh shipping real people is absolutely nothing new. 90% of all Hollywood Gossip media dating right back to the beginning is shipping, and much of it as made up as anything breathless 12 year olds on the Internet come up with.

Weird how Gio broke it off with Georgia right before the launch show so he could try and get with Laura but I don't think it will work. Hope they don't date. Typical of the producers to pair them up. Laura isn't loooking for anyone right now.

I don't know if this has been seen before but it is an interview with Laura who is describing her relationship with Gio - purely professional - and her friendship with Georgia. Sound perfectly reasonable and sensible and no chance of anything happening between them. The headline naturally is slanted to make it sound different than it actually is.

On another, more lighthearted note who else is now thinking of Gio as 'Goo'? Could get a Halloween dance out of that...

This sounds a bit like "shipping" from what I've been learning about the word on here.

Laura has stated in a DM interview she has no interest in him other than professionally and anyway he's too young for her, she says!
