Not just that but both unbelievably good dances for week 3!!

Has to be Danny's Paso tonight for me though, the guy is either a professional dancer on the sly or just a total natural!!
That was one of the most polished performances I've ever seen on the show!! I don't say I paticularly warm to him as a person but that performance was just something else!!

Jay's jive....it came out of nowhere and totally stunned!

Danny good from week one, cocky, confident (despite what he says on VT's)

No comparison.

I love them both but Jay's was such a surprise that was why is was so good, my gut feeling is Greg has wow dance this year.

I think he is a professional.

He's been in musicals under his own steam before he was on the tv (by that I mean not because he was a celeb or a 'name', he got in because he was trained and earned his role) which he wouldn't get without great dance experience.

His training and background point to him being a professional.

Jay's jive was one of those moments when the dancers, costumes, music and theme all work together to make the whole more than the sum of its parts. Danny's paso was great but the music didn't build to anything, Oti had a weird costume, they arguably don't have J & A's chemistry, so it wasn't as memorable IMO. It's the same reason Mark R's Argentine tango is loads of people's favourite even though there have been many more technically impressive ones since - all the elements worked together.

Jays Jive easily. It was brilliant, danced so very well. It was fantastic.
I enjoyed Dannys Paso but was too light across the floor, no pressure into the floor and heel leads missed. Great shaping but needed more solid legwork to create a more masculine look.

NOTHINHG will ever beat Jays jive, but Dannys paso was awesome and once again he out danced Oti.

May as well give Danny the glitterball now and save ourselves another 3 months of this!

Danny does not have anything close to a clear path to the glitterball yet.

I don't think Danny is going to win personally. He's too good too soon, and he's not humble about it at all. It's all too easy for him.

I can't remember the last time someone who was so good from week one and I'm guessing will be consistently good, actually won.

I'm thinking Greg might actually win this year. Ore may be a runner up.

Easiest vote ever, Jay by a million miles, it's simply the best dance I have ever seen on strictly, I'm not even the biggest fan of the show, but when I saw that I was like Should have got four 10's but didn't because it was week 3.

Danny just bores me I'm afraid, and Jay has far more natural ability.

This sums it up for me, right down to the comparison with Ramps' AT, which is on my "most watched" Strictly playlist along with Jay's jive (and before I get accused of being a biased member of the Jaypet army, I was a Helen supporter until she was voted out).

I agree, it was a perfect storm for Jay, everything came right on the night, plus the cheers and yells from what I have always assumed were the pro's up in the gallery during the dance, you can hear it quite easily, all gets the blood pumping. I don't think I'll ever forget when the dance ended and they were walking over to Tess the sound of the pro's and the celebs up in the Clauditorium pounding their feet on the floor, yelling and the crowd cheering themselves silly .... just an amazing scene I'll never forget.

Perfect way to describe it. IIRC you can hear Tommy from the band whoop(??) near the end of the dance.

He was an understudy in Wicked and he sang. He didn't dance much, if at all, and he certainly didn't do any Ballroom or Latin. He's not a professional.

I'd love to see Greg really smash it. He's surprised me so far but in a good way!

I get the reason for the poll. both week three dances. I would rather see Danny's paso or Jay's paso. Danny wins hands down for me on that score.

Not a pro in ballroom/latin, but in dance.

He actually played a role though and you do not get parts, or even become an understudy in the west end without being able to really dance. You will not be cast if you cannot dance without being a 'name', especially as an understudy part, you then need to fill a lot of roles, roles that include dancing.

In fact, all he did was sit on a chair.

Jay and Aliona's Jive came out of no where - no one was expecting it as Jay had been fairly average in the first couple of weeks. On the other hand, Danny showed he was no stranger to the dance floor from week 1. For me, the difference between the 2, is that Jay also nailed the essence of the Vincent Vega character in that particular scene from Pulp Fiction.

Jay's Jive was better than Danny's Paso, but Danny is the better dancer.

Of the thirteen previous winners, only Jill and Jay were in the lead at this point in their series in terms of overall scores. A lot of the time coming out as hard as Danny has means you don't win, not that you're a shoe-in.

^^This sums it up for me. Thanks Poppins for putting it far more eloquently than I ever could!
