If you feel its worthy of a ten give the guy a ten. But I suppose in some respect her doing that proved my point, she felt it was to early to go with a ten <shrugs> However as you also pointed out Craig's 8 for Anastacia when she almost fell over coming out of that spin was ridiculous. So yes, give them where they are genuinely worthy, but don't spread them so wide that they mean nothing so early in the series. Give the contestants something to aim for.”
Haha, why thank you!
I do think that the issue starts with them not scoring those who are not great low enough, so with Len scoring a seven doe someone who is bad the next score for average is an eight, so you are going to get to nines and tens easier for something great.
But yeah, give them what they deserve, otherwise if they did have a cap of say an eight until week four then Jay's jive getting four eights is going to look silly, it was still underscored as it was, I said the same thing about Darcy, if she thought it was a ten, it was a ten, no matter what week.
Another problem, which has really arisen this year is that so many are so good. So they all end up with a similar score, which is where possibly a .5 score could be handy to separate them all a little more and as you say, have something to reach for. If they have given everything a nine they have to go to ten now when something is better (but maybe not quite a ten). But if you had the 9.5 it could help. In the final last year I didn't really think Kellie was worth all of the tens, but they had given nines and she was better, so it was a ten.
