Lol, I very much doubt the primary reason people go on the show is to be judged.

Good comment. Any genuinely talented singer/songwriter wouldn't go near the programme, there's a stigma attached to X Factor and no decent act would want their credibility shot to bits. For me Honey G is the only act worth watching in the live shows, of course she's utter crap but i'd rather watch her than all the other bland generic karaoke acts.

Not the primary reason, but it is a huge part of the show. They get "judged" on their audition, at the 6 chair challenge, then off to the "judges'" houses, and finally "judged" by the public through the voting process. You'd have to be naive to think people aren't going to judge what they see when you put yourself on a talent show.
