Brattavio: perpetuating stereotypes in a town near you

What was the reasoning behind letting this pair onto the X Factor? They lack the warmth to be perceived as cuddly warm gays à la Kenny Everett. They are a weird mix of your typical thick as sh1T Towie characters mixed with the twinks who fill the streets of Soho sneering at anyone over 25. I'm guessing any 'standard' gays in the finalists are closeted. The ITV production team seems to like its gays 'screaming' so there are no 'nasty' surprises later on, as seen with Will Young.

The reasoning was probably this.

'We need a joke act -> Rylan did well didn't he? -> Let's have two Rylans -> Oh we're geniuses aren't we, let's do a couple of lines to celebrate!'

I really doubt it was anything more than that.

To 'build their profile' so they can appear on reality and panel shows and trashy gossip sites. Cowell's marketing company will then make a mint as they lead their lives like some sort of perpetual train wreck

This. They also really had to force Rylan, the British public didn't want Rylan to happen.

I dunno. I feel like Rylan's natural wit won a lot of people over who were initially all 'OMG HE'S AWFUL'

Neither of these two have the charm, charisma or wit that he does (and I say that while generally finding him quite irritating)
