........ over reverbed, backing tracks covering for bad or non existent singing, loads of vocal fx........ Truly awful and dishonest.

And the judges, Nicole in particular, reached new lows of annoying.

Next week I am just going to wait for the ytube videos and watch the acts that I like. At least that way it cuts out all of the dross.

I was determined not to watch but ended up breaking and watching on catch up. By forwarding through the dross, the entire show lasted about 20 minutes

Stand out for me was Relley but the whole thing was as bad as I expected with the 12 they chose

Relley, Saara, Gifty and Matt were the only ones who sang in tune. Overall, a pretty poor show.

Worst year yet, Honey G may be a novelty act but she was the only one I actually enjoyed.

Won't be following this series.

I likes honey G. Sam was good as was Saara.

Apart from relley and saara which were ok there wasn't much point in any of the others being there

I watched it on Catch Up and forwarded through all the back stories and crap. So I didn't hear that The Brooks weren't performing and didn't even notice, that's how big an impact they made on me.

The only performance I can remember in a good way this morning is Saara but I wasn't blown away by her and can see her being utterly shafted as they won't want another big voiced girl winning. I expect the "criticism" that she's a bit musical theatre will kick in next week.

It was the worst opening show I've seen since the very first series. Just about everyone aside from Matt and Saara was flat, out of tune or drowned out by a backing track. The judges are also taking the absolute piss now. No act gets any real criticism, 4 judge standing ovations are given to extremely average performances, Simon has no bite and even praises the joke acts now, Louis is....Louis. I don't know why he was ever on the panel tbh and I swear Sharon and Nicole are on something.

Those standing ovations were an absolute joke for the standard that was shown

It was embarrassing watching Sharon referring to Norway as Saara Aalto home country.

This was the worst part, her and Sharon were unbearable and yes the acts on the whole were poor with bratavio being the worst, they are not even entertaining in a funny way they are just talentless individuals desperate for fame.

It was a crap night all round. Saving 2 of the last 3 slots for the "joke acts" says it all about the priorities of the show nowadays.

The only decent performers were Saara and Relley C , but we all know there is precisely zero chance of Cowell allowing either to get too far. Expect them to be thrown under the bus if they do too well in the voting.

I've just watched it on catch up this morning and fast forwarded through all the crap. The only acts who didn't have loads of reverb and effects on their voices were Sam, Freddy and Relley. Sam is fantastic but Simon picked the wrong song for her, Relley was very good but I thought they went way, way overboard in their praise of her. I thought Freddy was the best as we could actually hear his voice and he's the only one who has a unique and interesting voice. Can't understand all the praise for Emily as I thought she was god awful, along with the two joke acts obviously.

I really like Saara. I hope she goes thru to the end.

The technicolor vomit that was the tinfoil chicken twins performance was absolutely dire. Far worse than Honey (I'm down wit da kids, innit) G.

I thought Sam was the best of the night. She hasn't been mentioned much though. Saara seems to be popular and I thought she was dreadful - literally like a Eurovision song contestant. I just don't get it

I cant believe that it is so bad that we are comparing the joke acts to each other.

There were significantly better singers in this year's Eurovision than there are in this year's X Factor.

Crikey, I don't usually watch it but turned it on for a quick look this afternoon, I just caught the end, when they show all the "acts". I didn't hear one in tune, what a load of rubbish, I won't be doing that again, is it meant to be a joke, if so it's not funny

I watched on catch up too. Apart from Gifty & Freddie, I thought it was pretty awful - full of the usual cliched nonsense.
