1 USB input on telly

Hi. My parents have an older TV with only 1 HDMI point.
Can a Sky+ Box and a tiny BluRay player be connected to the said TV? The TV has coaxial sockets but the BluRay and Sky+ don't. I thought perhaps the Sky box and Player could be connected together and then hooked up to TV through one HDMI socket.

Any ideas that dont involve buying a new TV please?
Thanks

You can buy an HDMI switch to allow you to connect more than device to the TV. There are basically three ways of controlling these switches:-

1) Manual button on the switch;

2) Remote control for the switch;

3) Auto-switching where the switch detects the last input device to fire up.

I suggest Type 3 for your parents but also with a remote to manually override the input selection if it gets confused.

Thanks. Sound like the best option. I will now hit Amazon

Oops, I messed up the title. Should say "1 HDMI input on telly"

When I used to do stints on an IT help desk the first task was always working out what question the user meant to ask!

(and then work out what question they *should* have asked ... )
