I don't know if there is already a thread on this, but Laura has been getting a really tough time on social media from fans of Georgia. Apparently she flirts too much with Gio (must say ive not seen any evidence of this so far) and is disrespectful to Georgia amongst other things.

Seriously G&G have broken up, it was never going to last, its over. Get over it and stop intefering in other people relationships. No wonder Gio wanted out of it. He strikes me as being quite private.

A lot of these women were middle aged as well. Not teens as you'd expect. Pathetic behaviour from grown adults.

How bloody awful.

I was a GG fan (more as a dance partnership), thought it'd be weird seeing Gio dance with someonelse but I do really like Laura she seems like a lovely girl.

I thought her Waltz was lovely and actually better than Georgia's week 2 Waltz. Its a shame shes not given a fair chance because people are too hung up on a relationship they no nothing about.

As a point of clarity, and knowing full well that this could be spun into a ‘all Georgia’s fans have been harassing Laura’ type of slant, the number of Georgia ‘fans’ who have been sending such messages to Laura have been extremely minimal, from what I’ve seen you’re talking roughly about half a dozen people.

Naturally sending tweets to Laura of that sort of nature is wholly unnecessary and unacceptable. People are entitled to their opinions, but they should not then send these opinions so that Laura herself can see them.

Georgia herself has, in my opinion, gone above and beyond the call of duty, considering the circumstances, to attempt to stop this:

People should leave Laura alone. She's a lovely girl. I'm a Laura fan. Why is Georgia so bothered they've broke up. There's nothing between Laura and Gio

BIB - Totally agree, I find it really creepy. Some of the ones on Twitter are mature people. Telling Gio, "Go after her " " She is the one for you" " You two are perfect" Seriously?? They think they know everything about them. Why do they even care??
Go live your life, stop living through others.

Those who are harassing Laura are horribly immature, but this does come across as confirmation bias. I don't think these "extremeists" represent Georgia's fanbase fairly.

This is the stuff that scares me. They seriously think they know better than the two people involved. Weird!
Poor Laura though, she hasn't been able to just get on with her Strictly journey like say, Daisy has. She has to put up with all this crap!! It's a shame. You can't read anything to do with Laura and Strictly without comments underneath referencing Georgia .. all to Laura's detriment. It's an insult to her too ... to imply that he's available so therefore they must be sh*gging.
God!! Have these people not got lives??
The only thing is, it's embarrassing crap written by people living in la-la land, so easy enough for Laura to laugh off but the relentless of it must be depressing. She did mention that it was stressing her a week or so ago.

It's been discussed a bit in the spoilers thread. It is pathetic, it's ruining it for everyone really. I swear these people are more emotionally invested in the relationship of strangers than their own lives! Sadly I think as much as any of them try to calm it down, like Georgias tweets, certain people just won't listen. Eh people on the internet, always representing the best of humanity!

And you are doing the same by perpetuating it.

Don't agree with the trolling at all, but I think its a producer thing basically Laura has been run over by the Bus.

Its not her fault that Giovanni and Georgia broke up right before the launch show and its not her fault that the producers put them together knowing that they would get this reaction.

I don't see much of a dance partnership yet from them (although its only week 3) but she needs to ignore and concentrate on dancing. Her waltz last week was quite good so that is something to work on.

BIB ... 2 tweets at the start of the show in September is hardly going above and beyond the call of duty IMO ... Not much of a friend if she can't openly support Laura. It is not Laura's fault Georgina& Gio split ... mind you she dropped her last boyfriend fairly quickly for Gio

Well by doing that she is also supporting Giovanni and I guess she does not want to that at the moment.

Why on earth should she feel she has to openly support Laura and her ex? She doesn't owe Laura anything, she's under absolutely no obligation to continually send supportive tweets. I don't know about anybody else but I wouldn't be generally inclined to send my ex any supportive tweets - so the fact she has done shows a great deal of kindness,

Firstly I don't think Georgia and Laura are 'friends' just because the papers say so - they've been out once via communal friends just before the show started - thats it. The tweets between them since have been more about them trying to stop troubemakers trying to paint them both in a bad light.

Laura should be able to have a normal experience with Giovanni on SCD and it not be effected by the fact shes been out to dinner once with his ex girlfriend. But I also don't think it should be expected of Georgia to constantly be cheering them on - especially as shes already wished them both well publcily already? Would you be cheering on your ex boyfriend and his partner on a weekly basis as your favourites after you had split up and you're most likely shocked and devastated over the split? I certainly wouldn't be! She already tweeted them, wishing them both well and telling people not to listen to rumours, that Laura is a lovely person.

You'll always get troublemakers trying to throw stuff at both Laura and Georgia which is unecessary but I do think these people are in the minority and hope it goes away.

She doesn't but Giovanni was criticised widely in certain circles for not sending his ex supportive tweets. . .

Well he did send a message about her Stage show which he didn't have to do. But they have split now so I think that will be it.

I'm surprised how invested a few are in the former relationship between Goo and Georgia. Some apparently feel it was somehow disrespectful he was paired up with a hot single woman.

Bit crackers.

Personally, I don't think it is all Georgia 'fans' who are doing that but social media allows people bit by bit to console each other that their reactions are acceptable, whether that's investing in a relationship or seeking to 'protect' it.

For my taste, and I accept I'm a bit strict on the matter, getting your jollies by imagining your way into celebrity love lives is a bit icky. But I can see how a climate exists online that allows people to do that. When a minority of 'fans' break through the fourth wall thingy to harass the real people at the heart of it though, it's clearly gone too far.

Laura should be able to freely enjoy her experience just like everyone else. Poor bugger loves the show. It's a shame that she's getting this crap IMO

Couldn't agree more.

Laura is on a show she has loved for years and it is a shame she can't enjoy herself on it without being trolled.

Some fans just take things too far.

Ditto all this.

A bit sad for all concerned really. I also include Giovanni. It's sad that things didn't work out for he and Georgia, but he should be able to get on with his actual job without this nonsense.

Out of everyone though I feel saddest for Laura. I hope it doesn't bother her too much as such a clear fan of the show it's a shame her experience is being tainted a bit by something out of her control.
