Radical solution for Laura.
Stop reading it. There, that wasn't so hard, was it? |

How dare Gio dance with a mop and kiss it, doesn't he care about Georgia's feelings???.

Not as good as this one from a couple of months ago though. Something along the lines of, how dare Gio stand in that photograph, he's deliberately blocking people out! - I laughed and laughed at that one

Who knows? Among other things they keep telling him to get back with Georgia ... and to not keep rubbing her nose in it and they tell Laura that she's not as pretty etc etc. I can't imagine why they would keep mentioning Georgia .. or even know about him and her ... if they weren't fans.
Possibly just trolls, though seemingly trolls with an agenda. And surely Georgia has enough on her plate in Breakfast at Tiffany's to be bothered with this? |

Someone once said the advance in technology was a wonderful thing as well as a dangerous thing. Nowadays it seems anyone in the public eye start off using it to their advantage, but the nature of society is that a few people then obsess over it, and the "celebs" then find their every move scrutinised, but the nature of the beast is they cannot stop using social media, it is what drives their popularity and conversely what brings hate and obsessive behaviour to the fore. How I feel for the young "ordinary" folk who are in this technology age, no wonder we hear of bullying/low self esteem/the "got to keep up with the Jones's" attitude of kids on social media,
Re the topic here, do the people who spout hate etc to Giovanni, Laura, Georgia, know them? No. But they think they do. Oh technology. This from someone who, living down south, if I wanted to find the phone no of a company in Manchester used to make a trip to the library to go through all the phone directories!!! Welcome to the technology age ... |

And I've been meaning to ask you, Sarah, I see you've been posting recently in the Giovanni and Laura appreciation thread, I take it you've had a drastic change in opinion from what you wrote about him then? I must admit to always being a bit confused as to why a world champion wasn't 'good enough' - is there anything in particular between now and then that might have made you change your mind about him?? Hmmmm
in that order. Nothing to do with her partner. |

I adore Giovanni. Something appealing about him and makes a change from all the East Europeans

Going through people's post history to pick an example you can use to 'discredit' them is quite frankly immature and mean spirited. She just posted a joke!

I can't see these being 'actual' fans of Georgia, but more individuals that dislike Laura (for whatever reason, maybe from a feeling originating from even before strictly) and just using the Georgia and Gio split to cyber dump on Laura.
Trolls don't even need to have real scenarios to beat someone with, they just use them at times in order to try and decieve, and I highly doubt Georgia would want fans like this or even want to have anything to do with a person (or more) that behaved in this manner. Fans are meant to love, trolls hate. Trolls disguised as fans fool plenty, but most know they aren't there to love anyone, but just use whatever celeb/scenario fitting in order to poke at (in whatever degree) for whatever reason. How many people on Twitter that have egg profiles are even real fans. I would take a pinch of salt the types of descriptions. Remember that guy from Union J, he said he pretended to be a little girl when online (couldn't believe he admitted it), so I think profiling trolls doesn't always seem as clear cut as. |

Perhaps so, but I just found it rather strange that you would post in an appreciation thread partially dedicated to someone who you didn't think was 'good enough' to be on Strictly.

What's wrong with me appreciating only Laura on that thread???. I actually wanted a thread for Mick and Laura, it never worked out.

Like Laura should worry! Who could take anything a self-confessed 'Georgia May Foote fan' would say seriously?! The words "Get a life" spring to mind ..

Weird. Annoying because I like reading the laughs I had last year. And yeah, I change my mind a lot throughout the show, I may have new fave next week, I don't think that it will be Laura though. Much as I like Giovanni and recognise that Lauras dancing is good I find her a bit stiff, like Helen was in the faster dances last year. Perhaps it's the height? |

A bit like when posters read appreciation threads of couples they have no interest in , in order to check that people in said thread are not saying anything against their favourite pro or celeb
![]() ![]() And I have no problem with Sarah's joke about gio and his broom- I may have even cracked a smile ![]() but I've b*gger all to no interest in what they say about people I like if it's not complimentary unless they're meant to be appreciating that person. Even then I've never reported anyone.I don't see anything wrong with reading them- I find it weird that some people don't read the main forum, but hey whatever. Another aspect of this is that Strictly now actively promotes the show on twitter and Instagram and encourages the celebs to do so. It's part of the experience, so for Laura ignoring the trolling and daft criticism may be more challenging than just staying away from certain places. |
