Has Georgia ever wished luck or rooted for Laura (supposed friend) or Giovanni on twitter after Strictly started?
She did for Aljaz and Janette though.

Georgia is, of course, entitled to tweet away to her heart's content but, IMO, it would have made life a lot easier for Laura and Giovanni if she'd kept her good luck wishes private rather than sharing them and therefore creating a mini furore amongst those who are interested about what certain tweets meant/didn't mean and the significance of following and unfollowing blah blah.

Sorry, I just had clarify something about your favourite pro, Gio.
Calm now.

You mistake me...

I honestly find the whole fan over-investment thing tedious. Or maddening. I was writing about that and then thought better of it because written down it looked unkind to Georgia fans

Thanks... I really don't know who she is... I didn't watch last year... I was very busy with 4th Impact.

My point is Georgia's public profile twitter/instagram doesn't help believe the friendly break-up announcement she made, on the contrary, giving the gutter press more to write about and to a full detriment to Laura and Giovanni, as the interferes with them creating a fan base that will vote for them. Basically generating negative atmosphere around them for something totally inrelated to dancing.

I totally agree. It was less than helpful and I suspect she was aware of that.

It certainly raises some questions. Hope she's not under P Andre's management.

Sorry but this, to me, seems utter nonsense. Are people genuinely managing to turn a tweet in which she has wished them both good luck, rubbished the tabloid rumours going around and called Laura a beautiful person into some kind of cynical plot to undermine them both? She can't win, can she? Yesterday I was having to defend her for supposedly being unfriendly because she hasn't sent supportive tweets to them both constantly, now I'm defending her for supposedly being unfriendly because she has sent them both a supportive tweet! The idea that she's created a negative atmosphere about Laura and Giovanni is utrerly, utterly ridiculous

Quite agree Brian but you're never going to win against certain people no matter how much reason and logic you bring into the argument!

I would guess that they didn't mean the good luck tweet, but the tweets about being 'gutted', the heartbroken emojis, the instagrams about people who let you down after making you believe in fairytales etc. Those gave the impression that she was heartbroken after being dumped, rather than being good friends with Gio after a mutual split as she had said in her statement. It could be said that that painted Gio as a heartbreaker who would go after Laura next, feeding the whole story in the papers. (Or they could have meant something entirely different, I don't know )

I know you will disagree (Mystic Lou ) but this kind of proves my point. As I say, it's her call what she tweets/doesn't tweet but it might have been easier all round if she'd kept her good wishes private.

Quite, we're talking here about a fairly prolific social media user who, despite girlish shyness and her stated desire to be private, stoically kept fans up to date about the progress of her two latest relationships.

Georgia knows the way this stuff works, or her agent does.

Honestly, I do not mind about that stuff. She knows the system; good for her. I voted for her last year and would do again if she were in an unending version of SCD. I liked the partnership. But for God's sake -- for pity's sake -- why are we still going on about her!?

One thing she said last year keeps coming back into my mind... It was an off the cuff remark about Giovanni enjoying himself on the show next year 'and I'll be sat at home on my own'. Series 13 was still going on and she was already thinking of the next one...

As things turn out, she has kept herself in view of the SCD publicity circus.

Yes Georgia is well aware of what she is doing.

The gutter press did pick up on the text she sent to Aljaz and Daisy, headlines were "Is Georgia throwing shade to Laura and Giovanni?"

I really do agree with BIB - we should be concentrating on this year's celebrities.

Why do you feel the need to constantly defend her.it's a bit much on your part.People will have an opinion as do you which is perfectly reasonable.People will see both sides I'm sure, but to promote yourself as Georgia's defender on here is a thankless task.

You are right of course. I suppose we are being manipulated to an extent by the press who are, as per, feeding off people's social media accounts.

Of course she was. I wouldn't be surprised if someone behind the scenes encouraged it as it got A LOT of press to coincide with her theatre debut, ditto all the photos in the press of her wearing outfits where the shop's named and linked to, people will be getting affilate revenue from people clicking on that etc, it's all about the money. Otherwise it strikes me as incredibly niave and she doesn't seem the type to be that colossally daft.

This isn't a moral judgement, it just seems to me that's how the celebrity/magazine world works.
Everyone does it, some people are much worse I mean when did Peter Andre last do anything that wasn't moaning about Jordan in the magazines? (Interlude for strictly aside, oh and those terrible adverts ). Ola's book too, etc etc etc.

Excuse me darling but what gives you the idea or right to defend her to the public? Are you her family? Do you know her personally? Are you her friend? Did she ask you to stand up for her?
How would you know what's going on through her mind so you can speak for her?
Do you think you know her because of following closely her Insta/Twitter?
She did let all the people that have Internet into her life and made them invested enough in her private life.
Perhaps we have different definitions of keeping private life private, I don't know.

Yes she didn't created this atmosphere alone but certainly did not work against its creation, she rather helped it.
I'm with Ellie1967.

And saying this - yes everyone has the right to do with tbeir own life as they please, but of all actions there are consequences and public figures should know about that better.

As I have only started to look at the SOS (to my shame) it is only now I realise that the gutter press get their stories from social media

Young grasshopper moment There's no turning back now Huph, you know that don't you? You'll be unable to post without mentioning side boobs, pert posteriors and how they're being showcased

I have you to blame I didn't even know what the SOS was before finding out on here

So...not personally knowing someone immediately dictates you can't defend them?

So in the same vein, why should those who don't know Georgia personally be given carte blanche to spout their thinly veiled slights on her character?

However, going by the above responses, most here know Georgia on a personal level based on what little information they are privy to.
