When they hadn't even left the show yet? Was this to show that the Paul Coker storyline had finally finished? Confused...

Because Julia's theme isn't and has never been exclusively for exits and was originally used whenever the dramatic drums would seem inappropriate.

I didn't associate the theme with Pam & Les but with the story line as a whole.

It wasn't Julia's Theme, as a whole anyway, it was only part of it, Im sure Julia's Theme is twice the length.

As I said in another thread:

Because it's only the last decade or so when it's been primarily used as an exit theme.. Julia's theme was originally designed to be an alternative ending tune for emotional episode endings when the drum beats wouldn't fit. However it hasn't be n used in this way since Tommy Moon was returned to Kat five years ago, the fact that SOCs first Julia's theme was for a non exit is a real sign of returning the show to its core values

I think it served as a signal of justice and a resolution being shown in the episode. Pam and Les will never forget Paul and how he died, but they can now learn to live their lives knowing that justice was well and truly served.

If Pam and Les were not leaving, I would love for Pam and Les to have teamed up with Ben to create an LGBT charity or safespace for the LGBT residents of Albert square, in memory of Paul.

What a lovely idea!

Shame they're leaving!
