Jukebox Fix
Master Ozzy

Watched the show this morning and there's not actually that many themes on there...I saw Motown, Disco, Divas, Boyband Vs Girlband, Fright Night, Louis Loves, Movies and about one or two others. It seems like there's enough themes on there to last the series, meaning they'll all get used anyway, it's just a case of in what order.

And do we really think fright night will occur any other week than Halloween?

It would be a lot better if they had genres like r&b,soul and jazz, and we could hear something a bit different.

Looked the usual clapped out, unimaginative themes we get every year.

Embarrassing moment last night when Dermot turned to the judges and said "Interesting themes - disco, divas, Louis Loves...what would Louis Loves involve, Louis?" and Louis says "oh Dermot, I think a bit of disco, a bit of divas"!

So two weeks are going to have essentially the same theme then?!

When I first heard about the jukebox I was expecting about maybe 20 options. But the reality wasn't very impressive...

Based on last night I'd say most weeks are likely to be fright night.

Perhaps there will be different options each week. Fright night being replaced with christmas classics for example.

I've said it before but Louis only knows two types of songs/acts

1 - bland, dreary boy band ballads and
2 - camp disco glitter ball karaoke at a gay bar

His wet dream is the chicken brothers singing You Make Me Feel Mighty Real in cod pieces and feather boa's - Don't have nightmares

It won't matter what the theme is they always manage to get a different song on it

Well, now we know. Dermot was very careful to say 'the jukebox will help us to find out what next weeks theme is' or something like that. No mention of actual random selection, so the gimmick is just an illustration of the new theme. You could actually see in the way it was spinning that it wasn't powered by Dermot's spin. And the Motown music cued up immediately, so the guys in the sound box knew what was coming.
Plus, what if next week's spin would land on the same theme again?

I don't care who choses the themes for the weeks, but don't go insulting our intelligence permanently with crap like this...

Exactly, what were they thinking with this? Yet again X Factor insults our intelligence.

I'm guessing once a theme has been picked then they take that theme out of the selection for the following week and leave that space blank or replace it with one of the other options

I agree with you, and did you notice when Dermot asked Cowell did he have any ideas of songs for Motown week, Simon replied, 'I was thinking of songs all through the show' or something similar, then stopped himself cos he realised what he had said. How could he be thinking of songs all through the show if the song theme wasn't 'randomly' chosen until the end. FIX lol

They should just do a vote by the app rather than this jukebox rubbish. We all know its completely fake cos they plan next weeks songs at the end of the week before.

To be fair, was it ever actually claimed at any point that it was a random choice? I assumed it was just being used as a more flashy way to announce the themes.

They should add themes on like Rock week, Unplugged, and Kate Bush night to really challenge the contestants vocals.

It would be more honest to say 'Let's reveal next week's theme'.

I was expecting a wheel that they would actually spin.

Did you notice how quickly the word Motown appeared on big screens behind them? It was instant. Surely if whoever arranges that did not know until that very second it would take at least five seconds for the banner to appear. It just seemed too instant if all involved had no idea what was going to be the theme that appeared.
