Just noticed there's a movie - All Night Long (1962) - on Talking Pictures TV tonight, Sun 9th Oct 2016 21.40, featuring Charlie Mingus, Dave Brubeck, Tubby Hayes, John Dankworth and others. Haven't seen it, but it got some good reviews on IMDB.

Yes i noticed that, but they'll be secondary to the plot which is loosely based on Othello.
There's Patrick McGoohan and Richard Attenborough in it.

But at least it includes a bit of, "old fashioned modern jazz," for once in a film.
