Is Strictly voting a little bit racist?

Two weeks gone and two black people off already. I strongly suspect there is a slight element of racism out there with the voting (not the judging) and black people don't (usually) get as far as perhaps they deserve unless they are really special as with Ramprakash and Dixon. IMO Natalie Gumede was clearly the best dancer in 2013 and had a lovely personality but still didn't win. Just my opinion and of course I could be wrong.

Naga and Ore are through. Melvin was the worst of the lot both weeks he danced. Tameka was better than Ed and Lesley but still pretty rubbish.

Nope.

If it were racist Colin, Denise, Louis would not have been finalists. Ooh and Patrick nearly.
And Anita.

Tameka was victim to being mid table, that's all. Nothing else to see here.

Edit: cannot believe I forgot Alesha. And Simon won the tour and the freestyle imho

Naga should have been in the DO and gone tonight. That's not racism. It's who can dance or entertain.

I suspect the taking the spotlight with ore and Jo might have been part of the problem, that and her tango wasn't that good.

Sigh. DS predictability at its best - surprised it took ten minutes for a thread like this to surface.

Should we take any notice of a provocative message, by someone with only nine posts?

They obviously don't know how to behave on a message board.

This, plus the fact she took the limelight with her last dance, once again attention seeking took to the limit, that is part of the reason she is out

Think the only problem for people here is that the wrong black person went home.

Or Ramps or Louis, or Natalie Gumedi, or Colin J, or Ricky W amongst others? 😞

Isn't 'a little bit racist' like 'a little bit dead'? You either is or you isn't. Poke it with a pitchfork and see.

Yes, you are absolutely wrong and seeing reds under the bed where there are none.

If you are truly a SCD fan, you will know that the show is as much a popularity contest as it is a dance contest and many factors come into the mix. Viewers don't sit at home thinking 'oh, they're a really good dancer and a fabulous witty person but they're black so I won't vote for them.'

It is insulting to this board and to viewers to insinuate this and, just as there is no place for racism on SCD, there is no place for provocative posts based on zero evidence.

I think that's unfair. She was very gracious pre and post DO. Lovely speech. Very dignified.
Did a great DO. Did not ham up Titanic which she could have, just did one gag post-spin.
I liked her and thought she had at least three more weeks in her.
Funnily enough, she has been described as Marmite on here but I remember seeing her on wishlists for years. The fact she had a standing ovation means the panel and audience knew she really should not have been eliminated tonight.

Agree.

Tonight's result IMHO is more about the curse of the mid table position, the viewers who vote think they are safe, and vote for the ones who the viewers see at risk of leaving.

We always get a shock exit st this time, those st the very top are typically safe, ( not always), those at the bottom, people vote for.

Well said, duckylucky. Using it the context of an entertainment show demeans those who have been genuine victims of racial abuse.

Rubbish. Tameka is popular with everyone, she was in the dance off because the public thought she was safe. Happens with someone every year.

Last week's elimination was unfortunate, however I think Anastacia would have stayed even if there had been a dance off. Melvin wasn't very good, lovely guy but the least charismatic dancer. I'd never heard of him before Strictly but now I know him I'll watch out for him.
