1) It seemed so wrong to me to have Alijaz as the bad guy - though I'm sure they picked him because he's one of the best actors among the dancers (and for those complaining about Jo being used for that number - I imagine it's for the same reason.) Personally I'd have cast Alijaz and Gio the other way around - but that's because of what we've seen of their actual personalities. I suppose, going on looks, it was good casting.
2) I love Ed, so I really want someone to whisper in his ear that he needs to prioritise saying 'Thank you!' when he gets through. He probably does mouth it, but after the camera has moved on, so it's too late to catch it. I believe he's very grateful, but he needs to show it in order to avoid losing votes. The pros know how much it matters & take care to do it, but the celebs sometimes take a while to catch on!
3) Am I the only one who wishes they could coach the celebs on how to play that waiting segment? ("You're looking sulky. I know you're just nervous, but people will think you're feeling entitled and are put out that your name hasn't been called yet. Try to look more scared and vulnerable." etc.)
4) Michael Ball and Alfie Boe both have good voices (though personally I prefer Michael's) but they really don't mix well. It's a pairing that is about taking two good singers who are popular with a certain demographic and thinking that they'll sell even more records working together - but in this instance, 2 + 2 = 1, not 5.
5) Lesley was sweet when she didn't know what was happening. It must be so confusing, especially when you're nervous as anything. I think Anton knew they were safe when he saw the pairings, though.
Sneaky extra comment - I didn't realise Tameka was showing a knee brace at the end, I watch online and it's sometimes pixelated, so I thought it was a gun holder that was part of her costume and she was showing it off. Now I know it was probably a dig at Anastasia, I'm not sure what to make of that.
I have no idea what Anastasia is like backstage, or Tameka, but they are both people with strong personalities and Tameka comes across like someone who will firmly take sides (pitching for Gorka to stay on the show, and now this knee brace thing.) I wouldn't have done it, but what I wouldn't do because I think it's a little petty, someone else might do because they think they're making a point that needs making.
So, I am just going to assume that it's a slight personality clash between two different but equally strong-willed women!
