Utter waste of time, can they not just stick simple format of 1 set of votes and that's it. Not this bloody tosh on voting again..

It's app only. So the cute boys will always have the advantage. But I like the idea

Don't like it, it's just a way for the producer's fave to be saved, just in case they land in the bottom 2. Like if Matt was in the bottom 3, he would obviously get saved with this vote. The bottom 2 should stay as it is.

I like it as it stops certain acts from being lost in the crowd on one night and then the judges just swipe them out of the competition.

It was clear tonight that if Freddy had've gone in the bottom two he was gone, I'm glad that didn't happen as his different and more interesting than Bratavio.

The problem is potentially the act that is third from bottom could actually end up leaving which isn't really very fair.

What I meant was, if Matt was bottom, or 2nd bottom, then by creating a bottom 3 and having this vote, it is a way for people to save him without having a judge vote. Popular people do sometimes end up in the bottom, a la Janes Arthur.

On an assumption that everyone has an Ipad, or other, to be able to vote. I've got an Ipad but couldn't be bothered voting.

That's happened many times before, when they've done double eliminations. 3rd from bottom has been eliminated.

I like the twist.

As a side note, remember the flash vote twist they tried and scrapped?

I don't like it, because they will always just save whatever boy is in the bottom 3. I think they have a big enough advantage already.

I think Simon / the producers got the idea of the Lifeline Vote from this year's America's Got Talent, where they had a ' Dunk 'n' Save' vote each week where the public could vote for one act from the bottom 3 to save, only the American public had more than the length of an ad break to vote, more like 20 - 30 mins.

The big difference is that America's Got Talent lets viewers use Google to save someone. So anybody with access to the internet can do it, young or old.

Did anyone look at the Fifth Judge also and vote there ?
When I looked just before the results were given for the lifeline vote it showed

Freddy 53%
Bratavio 3%
Saara 44%

So arguably the final result was correct.

The Voice US has been doing a Twitter save for several years. The final 2 seasons of American Idol had one too. The difference was that that the acts not saved didn't go to a sing-off. The sing-off was before the instant vote. The loser(s) went home directly.

The AGT save wasn't for the B3, it was for the the mid-pack. For example, if 12 performed, only 6 went to the next round. So the T4 were through. The B5 were out. The 5, 6, 7 ( without revealing the order) were eligible to be saved. Then the remaining 2 were eligible for a judge save without another performance.

This new change has a thumbs-up from me...interesting that two major changes occurring this series (the wildcards at 6CC and the bottom three + lifeline flash vote) were ones I had actually commented to my friend a couple years ago as changes I'd like to see on the show...
I'd like to see both sets of votes revealed at the end of the series with the rest of the voting statistics...it would certainly be awkward if the act who came in last by the general vote ended up getting saved by the lifeline vote.
