Simon - "write it down for me"?
Now , was Simon simply asking Nicole to spell Bratavvio or ...Or ....was Simon asking Nicole to write down the name of the act with the most votes so he knew whether he could send it to deadlock to create more drama Or ....save the chicken pluckers ?!

FIX.
Why would he ask her to write down the spelling?? Like honestly do you think he cares if he pronounced their name wrong??? |

Simon could barely remember James Arthur's name as he kept looking down at a piece of paper whilst speaking about him. It's either early onset dementia or he really couldn't give a toss about any of them. I'm saying it's the latter.

Simon's mind seemed to be elsewhere all weekend ,He was just as bad last night ,everytime Dermot went to him for his comment or to introduce his Act ..he seemed to falter as if he'd lost his train of thought and couldn't remember what he was going to say ,or who he was introducing ....
He was the same tonight .yes he's had trouble remembering names in past series etc ,but this weekend it was just peculiar ,really noticeable ,moreso than usual |

Yes, what on earth was going on then? Surely even for deadlock drama he would have lost any remaining credibility he had actually sending it to deadlock.

He did seem a bit "out of it". I do hope it isn't dementia or any other bad illness. You just never know.

I don't think any of the judges seem to be that interested in what they are doing. They can't get the names of the acts right, Sharon has messed up with Saara's name, calling her Zara tonight and last night didn't know where she came from.
Nicole has stumbled over some of the acts names and tonight Simon seemed to be trying to 'buy time' with waffling while waiting for Nicole to write down whatever it was he wanted to know

Think he needed to know who got the most votes, to decide which he wanted to go home, as he wasn't sure. If Simon wanted an act to go, he's tell them straight away and no messing about, but he had doubts and why he asked Nic to write it down for him. He did dismiss Bratavio in a very off-handed way.
I think he wanted confirmation of the pronunciation after Sharon mucked it up and Dermot's snarky "I know who you mean" reply - it's one thing having one of the 'mad' judges getting it wrong, let alone the man who's supposed to know what's going on! |

Why would Nicole know that and not Simon considering the latter is a producer on the show whilst Nicole is a lowly employee?

I do think if saara hadn't given an outstanding performance there is a chance Simon would have sent it to deadlock if he knew the anorexic idiots had got the most votes. Remember jedward? Rylan ?! |

Simon seems to struggle sometimes I've often seen him ask whoever is sitting next to him "what did they say?" "What happened" This was a new version of that.
I've wondered before if he is losing his hearing. On a slightly different note he must know he's miked up -there didn't seem to be much effort to disguise what he was saying! |

I wonder if they, Simon especially, were a bit distracted by the Brooks situation? As it stands they're going to have a two act final at Wembley which won't be enough to really sustain interest across two nights; especially considering last year's Saturday figure.
